Basehor-Linwood Virtual School was established in 1998 as the 1st Virtual School in the state of Kansas. BLVS is available tuition-free to all Kansas students in grades K-12.
BLVS operates as a fully accredited virtual school program with 40 certified teachers all teaching full-time within the Basehor-Linwood Unified School District 458. BLVS connects with students who are being homeschooled and students seeking an alternative education. We do not use third-party courses or curriculum vendors for our courses. We are the only virtual school in Kansas that uses district developed courses and district employed teachers.
There is no age limit for enrolling, and all previously earned high school credits will transfer. If you are currently seeking a GED, but would rather earn an accredited high school diploma, connect with BLVS. We will be happy to meet with you, and develop a plan to help you earn the credits you need. It's never too late to earn your high school diploma.
