The Battle Creek Police Department is a 24-hour operation. Lobby hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For emergencies call 911. Non-emergency dispatch is 781-0911.
On April 30, 1900 the Battle Creek City Council authorized the formation of the Battle Creek City Police Department. At it's inception, Battle Creek Police Dept. employed 9 policemen and a chief. It was originally headquartered at 49 West Michigan Ave, which is now the site of Comerica Bank.
The Battle Creek Police Department is currently a 119 man department. We provide 24 hour service to the City of Battle Creek and Bedford Township.
