Two stars for the cool, air conditioned line when the heat index was a 100 degrees. Impossible to tell how long the wait is because the line is in a cave. Like the majority of rides it is desperate need of a time to ride indicator. Once we were seated the headset itself did not work. A neon style green screen showed on the headset googles. The entire group on the ride just took the headset off and watched the blurry video without it. Thought the story was relatively convoluted. When we exited the ride we told the attendant that the ride was not working. The teen told us he was sorry and we continued on in the park. At least we got to cool off. Very much a disappointment and something we would definitely skip next time.
First VR experience in I think 2018, loved it to DEATH. Too bad it's closed and probably not available on Quest or PCVR, would love to see it released on those platforms. I remember it being a bit blurry and my memory is saying Rift CV1, but internet's saying Vive. Got motion sick. Still a blast. Wanna see it re-opened.
I’ve had better rides on the toilet. Poor attempt to copy Disney’s successful “Avatar: Flight of Passage.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t come close at all. Might be a pleasant experience if you don’t get out much or you’ve never seen a TV before. The VR headsets are so heavy they keep falling off no matter how tight you make the strap. Even if you get the headset on, I imagine your neck will be wrecked the rest of the day. The image is blurry too. Don’t mistake the long line as an indication that the ride is popular or good; it’s length is due to the poorly managed queue process. The wait times published on the app and website are always wrong for Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Don’t waste your time.
As long as you understand that this VR/simulator experience is designed for children then you will agree it is an amazing experience. However, as an adult, Corkscrew Hill held the scary and adventurous feeling that I loved about that ride. I do hope the park goes back to the thrilling and scary feeling they once had. After all, that tunnel was created for scares not for relaxed children. Therefore I have to give it a 4/5 stars.
Worst VR experience in the world..... I have better VR capabilities on my computer at home and I don't have to wait 2 hours to experience it. If this is your first VR experience stay far away from this ride. Pros: very nice air-conditioned que. Preshow Theming Cons: headset is a vive- very pixilated Head tracking sometimes fails and displays a huge warning overtop of the film playing Headset mount hurts your head due to the weight of the actual headset. Screaming mom's after the show "uhhh me and my daughter/sons headset was not working, you gonna let us ride it again?
Overall a terrible experience for me teen. Saw it while walking and decided to take a look. The line is cool and air conditioned but it's impossible to see how long it is because it's a cavelike tunnel. Makes you question if it's really worth the impossible-to-know wait time. Anyways, you put on a sort of mask that holds the lens. it's super uncomfortable and for some reason it wouldn't stay tightened, I had to constantly readjust whilst watching. Guides show a pre-vr vid on backstory, which looked interesting enough. Soon doors open to a large square with about 4x10 seats. After putting on the VR headset, it appeared blurry. No matter how much adjustment I did it would not be clear. The story follows the good fairy, the last remaining protector of an orb-thing. The bad guy and his evil fairies want to take it, and she tells us "you have to help me!". We go get a dragon to fly us, and the seats we are sitting in swerve left and right to imitate flying. The evil fairies jump out at you twice until you reach the bad guy. He does a stereotypical bad guy speech and then she reiterates, "you need to help me!" However, she just straight up OBLITERATES him with rainbows in seconds. She didn't need help after all??? Ride is over, all of us are disappointed we waited for something so lackluster. I'm not sure who would enjoy this.
The ride was just ok. Seating is similar to Universal's Ride through ny with Jimmy Fallon. My forehead hurt through the whole ride from the mask and the weight of the VR goggles. Family came out with indentation lines on our cheeks and faces. Ride was very short.
The headset didn’t fit right, the whole ride was pretty boring, you were suppose to be helping the fairy fight but you just sit there. Éire is pronounced air-uh NOT I-ER. A simple google search would tell you how it is pronounced. I can see what they were trying to do but it just didn’t work
Let's start with the fact that you are forced to pay for lockers! They encourage souvenir cups in the park but do not have a place where to put them for free. If they are enforcing lockers, they should do like Universal and provide them for FREE
Super short and lackluster. Definitely not worth the wait. Great concept but poor execution. Also, I couldn't manage to make the screen fully visible, no matter how much I adjusted the headset.
