Bauer's Shoe Store is a locally owned footwear store, with experienced staff. We offer personal fitting; as well as a wide variety of footwear products.
On August 4, 1926 Bauer's Shoe Store was opened, by Albert Bauer after purchasing Walter's shoe store. He was later joined by his wife Maude Bauer, who was still present in the store up untill she passed at the age of 100.7.
Although Bauer's has been at several different locations around the square in downtown Harlan. We have been at our current location, on the corner of 6th St. and Court St. since the summer of 1953.
We are one of the few shoe stores left that still personally fit each customer. Many customers recall coming in here and getting their shoes when they were children and now bring their children and even their grandchildren in.
Our staff has years of experience and expertise in fitting shoes. The current owner Keith Bauer grew up in the store, and still helps customers today.
We have a wide variety of quality footwear; including brands such as Wolverine, SAS, Clarks, Born, Life Stride, Naturalizer, Bearpaw, Corkys, Hush Puppies, Merrell, Asics, New Balance, Skecher's, Nike,and Brooks just to name a few.
We also care a variety of footwear accessories, such as, insoles, socks, polish, cleaners, etc.
