The Baum-Neal house is where L. Frank Baum (Author- "Wonderful Wizard of Oz") met Maud Gage, his future bride. Restoration is now under way!
The Baum-Neal house was the home of William and Harriet Neal. Harriet was author Lyman Frank Baum's sister. This is the home where she introduced Baum to his future bride- Maud Gage (Daughter of Suffragette Matilda Joslyn Gage). This is also the home where Baum and family stayed when they came to visit CNY in 1912.
it is now owned and being restored by the International L. Frank Baum & All Things Oz Historical Foundation. They are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that is 100% volunteer, and they are a chartered historical foundation in New York State. They also operate the All Things Oz museum in Chittenango, NY (Baum's Birthplace), and the annual Oz-Stravaganza festival.
