For any park I think it depends what you're looking for. This is more of a neighborhood park and trail head, and it doesn't have any facilities such as restrooms or shelters. However, it does have a soccer field, basketball court and play ground. For myself, I mainly use the park to access the trails in the area. A bike path run through the park with access to the Capitol City Trail. There are a number of other trails running through the woods with connections to the e-way trail system. Most of the trails are well maintained, however, it can be difficult to tell what is a trail. There are some old trails that are no longer maintained in the area, and one can accidentally take one of them. I frequent the park mainly for this trail access either on my bicycle, with my dog or just to go for walks. Proceed slowly along the bike path as there are short sight lines. It seems like a nice park for pets, but I'd recommend keeping dogs on leash. There are reports of coyotes in the area and a fair amount of traffic on the street here. For my purposes however, it is a nice park.
I like to walk the trails and notice the changing plants and wildlife.
It's a quiet simple park with plenty of street parking. There's a grass field, playground, and basketball court. The neighbors are a little old and touchy with large groups, noise, etc so watch out for that. They're not afraid to call the police for ridiculous reasons. It's also the trail head for the bike paths in the area.
Large open space. Basketball court. Soccer field. Bike and running trail. Playground equipment. Family park. Well kept. Friendly patrons.
Lots of frozen marsh...
Great playground equipment. Trail spur to the Capital City Trail.
It's a ok park, small play structure and a soccer field.
A good park. Not A lot of shade.
Tons of mosquitoes April to October due to proximity to swamp.
A trail connects Baxter park to the Capitol City bike trail.
