I started with 4 stars cause I feel the host/ hostess sets the tone for the whole experience; and luckily my server, Rachel, made it better for me to enjoy my drink and dinner. Party of one NEVER wants to be seated in the middle of the dining space!! Very good food. The tiramisu was amazing
I have past this place for years and always wanted to check it out. So yesterday I was excited when my buddy suggested it. Unfortunately it didn't come close to meeting my expectations. The place was nicely decorated, had a cool bar and a great bartender named John. My disappointment was in the food. The octopus and white beans had absolutely no flavor. It was cooked well. Not chewy.....but there was nothing there taste wise. The same thing for the Veal Milanese. It definitely could have used more flavor. I also didn't like the plating of this dish. They took the fried veal and put it at the bottom of the plate. So it was covered with salad, onions, tomatoes and cheese slices. The breaded Veal was totally soggy and flavorless. The burrata, fried zucchini and salami and cheese plates were fine. John was a great guy, attentive bartender and helpful. He also made a very good expresso. It was a very expensive evening which came out to $200 each, which I wouldn't have minded if I would have enjoyed the food. However I didn't. Therefore I most likely won't return.
My experience dining at Matteo's was better than my online ordering. This review is for the online services. First, it took me a long time to decide the online system was not working. I prepared my order three times, and it would reject the order because it didn't accept any of my cards, when all of them were ok. In fact, when it rejected the first one, I got a display saying DONE, but in small letters said that my card was rejected. Somehow I was going to close my PC when I realized my order was not processed. So, I decided to order over the phone. After some hold time, the person took sometime correcting my pronunciation, a pickup order for 6, no dessert, no drinks, was $200. They told me 30-35 minutes, and it might have taken 40, not a big deal. What was a big deal was that some of the food was COLD I am 3 minutes away from the place, and I picked it up, but they gave me a different food in one of the trays. I might go to the restaurant again, but after 2 poor experiences, will never try online again.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and we absolutely love this place!! The food is always amazing, the drinks and service are great, and the restaurant itself is very nice! We worked with Dennis to secure the date for our rehearsal dinner and he was great - very nice and the communication was easy! We did a family style dinner and the food was soo good - everyone kept raving about it. We did the silver package which was multiple courses, wine and beer, and was very affordable! You really get a lot for your money. Would def recommend for events or date night!!!
Food & service is very good. The dinner special Mon - Thurs offers value and portioned nicely. The one drawback; it is terribly noisy when crowded and table conversations are difficult if not impossible. Room ambiance is lovely. Acoustics are not, a common problem..
We had such a great experience at this restaurant! The staff here were so friendly and efficient. Our server Katie was so wonderful and helpful and knew the menu super well and was so knowledgeable with accommodating dietary restrictions gluten free. Definitely coming here again!
Not enough parking, but the food is very good and the waitstaff is attentive without being overbearing. Nice inside, but it gets quite loud and seems very bright. The food was very well prepared, quite tasty, and the portions are just right. We were there for Restaurant Week.
Very nice restaurant - I live in the neighborhood so I've been here more than once. Staff is friendly & accommodating-- Mgr. was making the rounds to assure customers were being taken care of. Only "drawback" is that it can get quite noisy when the place is full. FYI I had the shrimp Ultimo-- delicious!!!
The food was amazing, from the appetizers, to the pasta, to the medium rare steak which was cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding and the bathroom was immaculate. My only disappointment or complaint would be that the fresh fruit and cheesecake it was as if it was sitting in the fridge uncovered. Hence, it was stale and tasted of the fridge. Also drinks are pricey, although they tasted good and packed a puch. Be aware, this place is nt cheap but well worth it.
This used to be our families favorite restaurant. Ever since Covid hit ive had some bad meals. White clam sauce with sand in it, overcooked veal, very bland chops, even the other night a steak that had zero flavor. Asked for steak sauce just to give it something and got an empty bottle of A-1 that was expired! Beautiful restaurant with pretty people but they need to hire some decent cooks.
