Great campground. We stayed here for three nights. The sites were big and had really nice new picnic tables. The washrooms were clean and they had hot water for showers at no extra cost. There is a little store attached to the check-in where you can get ice and firewood. I would say I was a little surprised that they were allowing fires given the state we are in and we didn't have one. The campground was very busy so there were a couple of nights where people were a little louder than we would have liked but overall everyone seemed friendly and having fun. There are a ton of plug-in sites though we weren't able to get one for our stay. The beach is really amazing though and the water is definitely warm enough for swimming. I would have hoped that it was a little bit of a shorter walk but overall not too bad. You do have to be conscious of your timing for going down of the tides, especially if you want to swim as the tide goes out really far and it is a mud flat so you can't walk out on it. Catch it when the tide is on the way in and you will definitely enjoy it. Great for flying kites too!
This is a lovely park! The first set of RV sites starting at 1 are set back from the rest of the Park and have views of Padilla Bay. The main RV sites are around a large grass circle on which a few games are set up. Kids biked around the circle and thru the tent campsite loops which are more wooded. We stayed in paired sites 58 and 59 which one must book together and there was barely room for the wheelchair lift on my van. The sites are listed as partial sun, but we had sun almost all day and plenty to power up our batteries with the two solar panels. The disabled RV site, 14, had lots of room for the lift and was nice and level. They were rehabbing the plants during our stay so there wasn't much privacy between sites. The rangers and volunteers were super nice as were our fellow campers. Bathrooms were clean even on the weekends when the park was at capacity. The loop around the main RV sites is paved. The other roads are gravel and I needed my freewheel to navigate in my manual wheelchair. The beach is across the street, and unfortunately the beach trail has stairs / is not accessible. The other campers told me the Bay was warm and swimming lovely but that I could not access it in my chair. I had decent cell service LTE, no 5G with T-Mobile and Verizon and was able to work, although video calls glitched a bit. Weekends were pretty raucous so if you're looking for peace I'd book a weekday stay.
This is a pretty little Park. They have a nice Beach area to watch the sunset. If you go later in the day they may have some campsite cancellations. That's what we did. We pulled our 30 ft motorhome in there and they had a list of available campsites. We put our money in an envelope and spent the night and watched the sunset on the Puget Sound. It was a very nice night.
A very nice place. Quiet, shady and allows privacy. It is not noticeable that it was full. In the center of the circle there is a large lawn that allows children to play. Walking distance from the ocean. A quiet beach, with a beautiful view
Beautiful park! Stopped by on a windy rainy day. Lots of rocks! Great views! Has a shelter group area. Need a discovery pass or pay $10 day use fee.
I love hanging out on the beach. Nice view cold but nice water Relaxing areas nice water sounds 10/10
Love this park and campground. The camp sites are very open but they are great and well kept. The bathroom/showers are cleaned at least daily during the times that I've stayed at the campground. Lots of wildlife; bald eagles, owls, different kinds of water fowl, squirrels, racoons and all sorts of fun stuff. Love visiting state parks.
We attended as part of a summer camp field trip. We had never heard of this park before. It's beautiful and clean, fun to explore and has restrooms. There is a very large grassy area with multiple picnic tables and a picnic shelter. The beach area had a lot of fun "tide pool"-like areas for the kids to explore. We found snails, crabs, mussels, barnacles and something digging its way away from us through the wet sand! If you continue your walk along the beach, you will find a stairwell that leads to a path to the observation building. If you do visit the buildings during open hours, there are a few interactive rooms to explore and learn facts about the area/marine life. There was even a small aquarium set up and touch-tank available. My kids want to go "exploring" again soon! You need a Discover Pass or pay to stay. There are camping spaces available as well. Restrooms: There are a couple of restrooms available. And they are very clean. Picnic area: There are both sheltered picnic tables and several available out in the grass field area.
Quite peaceful, good spot for a picnic. View of the mud flat is pretty cool. It is a mud bay!
Very few bugs and a short walk to the bay plus the cleanest campground restrooms I've seen! So glad this was a part of our week-long PNW road trip! Restrooms: Cleanest campground restrooms I've ever seen
