Extremely rowdy and wasted people everywhere till 2 or 3am both nights. Horrible family camping trip. People walking through our site all day and night. Staff was friendly. They handled our complaints very professionally and refunded us our full stay. It was a disaster for both of the families we were with. Great place to go on a bender as there is no security and you can walk around drinking all day and night everywhere. Leave the family at home and pack the ear plugs.
A chaotic nightmare: Bayfort Family Camp Site fell miserably short of its promises, providing an atmosphere far from family-friendly. The relentless noise of late-night parties until the early hours left us sleepless and frustrated. The complete lack of security amplified the issue, prioritizing rowdy crowds over peaceful campers. Our stay was marred by disrespect for personal space and privacy, with a disregard for fellow campers' need for rest. Guests treated our campsite as public domain, walking over and through it as if it wasn't our space. However, it's worth noting that the management did acknowledge our ordeal, particularly for pregnant mothers and young children, and offered a refund as a gesture of recognition. In essence, Bayfort Family Camp Site should be avoided at all costs if you're seeking a tranquil family camping experience. Explore alternatives that genuinely prioritize relaxation and harmony. However, if you're looking for a late night 3AM disruptive party with no security, this is the place for you.
Been coming here for 38 years!!! Owners are always super friendly and go out of their way to know every seasonal camper by name! This is my home away from home. I now get to share this experience with my son who loves every second there. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to be at Bayfort!Rooms: 5/5
What a hidden gem of a campground. 2 minutes from Midland right on Georgian Bay. Very clean and well kept. Super friendly staff and great food at the restaurant. Lots to do playground, horseshoes etc Highly recommendService: 5/5
Not nice for travellers. Really dated and focussed on seasonals. Troubles with reservations, with hot water, really small sites, one next to the other one. Too pricey for this camping. Would not recommend. The tents sites are the ones with a little privacy, but no services and quite uneven.Service: 2/5
Campsite is close enough to city of Midland to drive back and forth, yet far enough to be quiet. Note: showers are available, but they are pay-showers. Quarters only: .50 cents was enough!Service: 5/5
The have a 2 year waitlist not too sure why it's right in the town, most trailers very old by the water and small pool.
Booking available by phone only. We were given a site beside a VERY rude seasonal camper. My dog went to the bathroom on OUR site and we were yelled at that we were exposing them to worms my dogs are seen by vets at least 2-3 times a year so no worms. Another seasonal camper down the road yelled at my kids on their electric scooter and then yelled at my husband that they are not allowed. Ok cool, didn’t see that rule but sure no scooters anymore. Anything with an electric motor golf cart, moped, scooter is banned so seasonal campers are driving around drunk on gas powered LAWN MOWERS with BLADES! How does this make sense?!?!?! Also, small sites and paid showers… I wanted to love this place so much with the beach but was seriously let down. Will not return unfortunately!
The drinking water has a distinct yellowish tinge to it, we only drank bottled water we had purchased. They charge you for showers, really!! and 25c don't give you much, a decent shower would cost 75c. Not a very safe shower stall for an elderly or anyone with an infirmity. The toilets are clean though the stalls also are very cramped.
The booking is super easy and the lady is such a friendly sweetheart. There are a lot of trailers that have been here for many years and look like they couldn't move if they wanted to. They have a beach volleyball court, play station for kids and 2 horseshoe pits. They have a little beach area with buoys for safety. The transient sites aren't very level. One thing I found extremely cheesy is that they charge you to use the showers. When you're paying $70 per night to stay there, I think that should be free. It bothered me enough to take away a star.
