Description

Dr. Anna M. Chacknes earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at the University of Richmond, Virginia, where she graduated cum laude. She continued her education at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Chacknes moved to Rock Hill in 1992 and joined the dental community. She maintains membership in the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Tri-County Dental Association. During her career, Dr. Chacknes has also taught dental hygiene and dental assisting students at York Technical College.

Very friendly and personable staff! Felt right at home with each and every person I encountered! I have found my life long home with this dental practice! If you are still searching for a dental home- this may the place for you! Amazing staff, amazing dentist! Can’t wait to see the outcome of my dental journey with this practice! I am hoping the costs due to me needing a ton of dental Work is affordable- as my husband will be joining this dental practice as well if that is the case! I have not had any major work done yet- so once I start the serious stuff I will give more in-depth reviews! But You ladies are wonderful people
Marlon is a great way to encourage the kiddos to sit tight through their cleaning. We've been going for years before Marlon joined the family and always had great experiences.

Customer service is awful. My sister had to reschedule her appointment twice because she had work and school and she has random meetings that get scheduled daily. She also moved 40 minutes away to live with me, but wanted to continue there as a patient. The lady told me she could not reschedule again. After saying we would find another dentist to take her to, the receptionist wanted to say we could reschedule. This is not my dentist and I don’t think I would ever recommend someone to a place who talks to their patients like that. I will be referring her to my dentist
I have gone here for a few years and it was an average to positive experience, very convenient location wise for me. Today I got two letters in the mail, one saying that I owed 23 dollars and the other a hand written letter telling me that they are going to turn this over to a collection agency if I don't pay asap and so on. I always pay my bill, this was a new insurance company who covered 23 dollars less and I didn't know. No outreach was made, no emails or calls only these two letters despite the hand written letter saying they had been trying to get in touch with me. I went in concerned as they are threatening my credit which is so important these days, and they said they didn't know why the hand written letter was sent. According to the receptionist it was a mistake and during that time they were not even open to take payments. How is a hand written threat a mistake? When I asked I was just told it wasn't her, and that is it. Not a bad company but be aware, they don't care about you, they just care about your money. They will threaten your well being if they accidentally think you might owe them a dollar.
I have always loved going there until recently when being checked out my bill was more than they told me it was going to be after I doubled checked before I had the procedure done. I asked 4 times and they told me same price until I checked out and then they charged me double that amount. The lady jennie at front desk is rude, but the rest are always so sweet , they do great work, but I will be switching dentist all because of one person that works there .
Super friendly staff, nice office space, and very professional. I was really impressed with how thorough they were about not just a cleaning, but talking over my over-all dental history and health. Highly recommend them.
I just moved to the area from out of state. I loved my experience until I was being checked out and was surprised with a bill after being told by my insurance that my preventative services would be covered 100%. I received an exam, oral cancer screen and they took full mouth radiographs prior to my cleaning since I was a new patient. When I was checking out the office argued that even though the insurance states they cover 100% of the radiographs they don't always do what they say so they charged me a portion of it and told me my insurance doesn't cover the oral cancer screen which I was not asked whether or not I had wanted it done and always was asked at my prior dentist offices and declined due to the added cost and the fact that I am not a smoker - I assumed in this state it was part of the oral exam since the dentist was doing it, not the hygienest, and they didn't ask whether or not I wanted it. I paid my bill after nicely asking what the charges were for. I called Humana, they stated they cover 100% of what I was charged for for the radiographs but the oral cancer screen was not covered for my age group. I called the dentist's office and they still argued that the insurance may not pay all of it despite them telling me they will. I noted that I was surprised that they had performed billable procedures without my permission, simply hoping for an apology, and there was silence on the other end of the line. The fees are not much but it was the lack of apologetics from the office since I was surprised to have a bill that upset me. $50 isn't much but I watch where my money goes and I have dental insurance for this reason. I really liked Dr. Chacknes and the dental hygienists who did my cleaning and took my radiographs but they should be more up front with costs if they don't think my insurance covers it. I'll wait to see what my Explanation of Benefits states when my insurance pays the office and see if I am due a refund. I already have a return visit scheduled for another 6-month cleaning and I will apparently need to be more explicit regarding what is covered under my plan then so I am not charged unnecessarily.
Amazing Practice......Friendly, and Professional.....Very caring and took care of my dental needs. Dr. Chacknes and her staff made me feel comfortable. I was apprehensive knowing that I had not been to the dentist in 7 years.. I highly recommend this Dentist.
Bayshore Dentistry provides a very welcoming atmosphere and top notch dental care as well. They have always worked hard to create appointments that work with my busy college schedule. As a long time patient, I have never experienced any problems. If you are looking for dental care that is friendly and reliable, I highly recommend Bayshore Dentistry.
