I moved into this apartment 3 months ago and this is absolutely the worst apartment I’ve EVER lived. Upon moving in I was quoted the wrong prorated rent, so when I needed to pay rent it was almost $300 more than I was originally quoted. I let this slide and paid it, math isn’t my strong suit either, mistakes happen. But within the short time of me living here, the dryer in the laundry room didn’t work which took several weeks for them to complete, there was a fire in the upstairs unit which caused water to leak inside my apartment, which also took weeks to get the water out but the damage hasn’t been rectified, it’s been about 30 days since that incident. Lastly, the the broiler for the community is broken yet again, this is the 2nd time that the community hasn’t had hot water. Maintenance and contractors have been in and out of my apartment since I’ve moved in, at this point I should’ve be charging them a third or rent. Long post, but I thought it important to let the folks know!
This place has been nothing but a disappointment. I lived here for 2.5 years too long, but thankful to be gone. Throughout my time here I’ve had multiple issues with my heating/cooling unit going out. Issues with my water. The stairways are infested with pests and trash stains since they have never been washed at least not during my time there. Some residents have 0 respect for others. Constantly fighting and arguing in the middle of the night. Not to mention there have been 3 apartment fires in the short time I’ve lived there. They sent out an email in March that a second smoke detector audit was being done in every unit after the most recent fire that displaced many. I can assure you they did NOT audit my apartment. I had cameras in my unit recording at all time. For that reason and the lack of safety, I have left. It’s also impossible to reach anyone at the leasing office. You have to call multiple times in a row for someone to answer. Same for emailing. All of my outgoing emails to the leasing office have been “blocked to sender.” For the amount of rent you would pay here, trust me when I say you’re better off somewhere else. The ONLY positive review I have is for the new maintenance manager, Cyphus that started early this year. He was prompt in helping me with a temporary solution when my AC unit was out for a month. I truly wish him the best. Like I told him, he will need it working for this property.
Not even sure where to start with this. Other than to say the valet trash was the only somewhat reliable service they made me pay for. After 3 maintenance requests for a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom and having them leave their tools laying around, the AC cover hanging open, and a total mess left behind. Not to mention the strobe effect my lights had from what I can only assume was a wiring issue that as far as I know has yet to be addressed. Then the whole not being able to receive mail, and having to track it down all over south charlotte. Personally wouldn’t recommend these apartments to anyone for any reason.
Noel does a great job, lost my key to my apartment and he helped to make me a new one, staff is always friendly and very professional
I want to take this opportunity to thank a member of the maintenance staff once again. I placed a maintenance request online one morning for several repairs that needed to be done and by noon that same day Cyphus had completed everyone of them. I honestly did not expect that quick of a response to my service request let alone addressing every issue at the same time. The professional and knowledgeable service you have brought to this community has made a great difference and should not go unnoticed. Thank you Cyphus for all that you do, I for one appreciate you! Vanessa Alston I am utilizing this platform solely for the purpose of sharing my personal experience as a resident of Beacon Hill Apartments. I want to commend Luis, maintenance staff for his prompt and professional service in answering every maintenance request that I submitted. Luis's personable, efficient, and courteous service has made all the difference in some of the unfortunate experiences I have had as a tenant of Beacon Hill. My hope is that others value Luis's commitment to service as well! Thanks again, I truly appreciate you!
If you're thinking about moving here, let me save you the trouble and tell you straight up: it's a total scam. They have no qualms with taking your “application fee” and then ignoring your calls indefinitely. Whether it’s due to disorganisation or straight up scamming, save yourself and run far, far away from this circus!
*update* almost 3 years later and we still live here. New property management took over about a year into being here and they are AWESOME! They host events for the community living in the complex on a regular basis. They host game nights and pool parties with a D.J. and always feed everyone. Reginald, Makeeya and Andrea in the office go above and beyond to help you with anything they can. Literally anything. They're wonderful and always kind. Maintenance is always quick and respectful and I trust any one of them to be in my home with or without me there. They do their best to fix things well I don't live in an updated unit so there's always something needing attention. We SO appreciate the things this property management team has done to bring the value of our community up. They've added a playground and an off-leash area for pets as well as other improvements like fresh paint and updated landscaping. Close to everything. A short drive to south park. We have been here for 6 months and we don't have any complaints. Relatively quiet for a big complex. Maintenance is friendly. Office staff is kind. Very diverse community. We love the pool in summer! We will likely move when our lease is up, but simply because we need more space and would like to have a yard
Loved the layout of the place but i guess i was supposed to be happy to be scammed. The woman i spoke to told me she would give me a welcome home letter when i got approved and didn’t and then the calls and messages stopped coming in right before my move in date. No lease no welcome home letter nothing. Please watch yourself at these apartments they will take your app and admin fees but won’t do anything to help you please dispute with your bank if you can.
I moved here recently and I love my apartment layout and the location however the pictures the have posted are only for the display I swear I requested a newly furnished apartment and am willing to pay. What they gave me is old and falling apart. management is horrible they give people gift cards to make this place sound good I love maintenance they always try to help via online even when the office is closed or they simply won’t pick up the phone. When I first tried moving in on the date the lease started, they basically told me I was homeless and couldn’t move in because they didn’t move in any appliances in that unit and wouldn’t allow me to move in with them not in it so I demanded another one because how was that my problem? It was in the lease. Unless of course they wanted to cover a weeks worth of hotel cost until they told me I can move in and additional U-Haul fees. I’ve heard this story multiple times from them and other residents. I then had to go to the laundromat because I didn’t have a washer and dryer even tho it was in the lease. Here it is after Christmas and I haven’t had heat for over a week and they have known about it. My toilet bowl was broken when moving in they replaced it after dealing with my floors flooding for days. The floors will come up/ bubble up if you use the heater they give you when your heat is out. Tons of holes patched improperly with a bad paint job, tons of water damage under the cabinets they won’t replace you won’t have a bedroom light if you care about that. They won’t let you remove the trash pick up fee they over charge for when you don’t want the service. Bruh the dumpster is 2 feet from my car I told them that. There’s glue coming out of the floors. THE MOLD TO THE GUY WHO WAS COMMENTING ABOUT IT EARLIER mine was 3x as worse all over every single vent. I couldn’t figure out why I have sinus problems at home thought it was allergies no just the 4 years worth of Mold. Mind you I moved in only a few months ago didn’t know I would be moving in with roaches that they can’t seem to control but charge you a pest fee for as well. I will never renew probably ending it early worst apartment my old one was nicer & cheaper
WOULD NOT RECROMMEND. Applied and had to repeatedly call/email to get a status. The move in date was changed on our portal twice without us stating this and then when we finally reached someone to confirm a move in date they upped the rent. The apartment was disgustingly dirty when we moved in. I notified Jael and she said shed call me back after speaking to the manager and days went by with no contact till my S.O went to the office she stated they had a $100 gift card for us. Communication is ridiculous. We had to purchase a shower rod and we were not reimbursed or even acknowledged on this. So many things were broken in this apartment upon move in. Couldn't take a decent shower for 2 weeks because the water would get EXTREAMY cold then EXTREAMLY hot over and over. The office was extremely rude and stated it was because the building is old and runs off of only 2 boilers. She stated it was due to multiple showers being taken in the same time frame. Her solution was to basically wake up and shower before everyone else. Finally they had a plumber come out after we complained multiple times and now it works fine. The mail boxes are being left open and we are missing this being delivered to it and are now considering a P.O box that we shouldn't even have to be thinking about. The solution given BY THE PROPERTY MANAGER was to pay for the Fetch service provided as they don't deal with the mailbox not being locked.
