Detroit’s newest public space - Beacon Park - was developed by DTE Energy and opens to the public on July 20. The park infuses light, energy and motion to create a distinctive gathering place and unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.
The circular, open lawn is the largest of any Downtown Detroit Park, providing room to run, play, relax and recharge. Beacon Park will offer year-round programming, interactive light installations and a contemporary restaurant with a rooftop garden and dining space that provide panoramic views of the park and city skyline. On the western edge of Downtown, this beautiful park will activate 1.2 acres, improve walkability and create a catalyst for cultural vibrancy and economic development in the city of Detroit.
Beacon Park is the newest public space to be programmed, maintained and operated by the Downtown Detroit Partnership whose portfolio of award winning parks and public spaces include Campus Martius Park, Cadillac Square, Capitol Park, Grand Circus Park and Spirit of Detroit Plaza.
