We Are The Beale Air Force Aero Club, the best flight school and flying club in California! Our planes are amazingly equipped and well maintained with rental rates that make flying worth your while. The club is open to military AND civilians alike. To ensure access to our planes, our fleet is positioned at Yuba County Airport. Our main office is on base. Drop us a line, shoot us an email or schedule an appointment and we can help get you into the air or help strap those rusty wings back on you if you haven’t been flying for a while.

I was stationed there for almost 5 years. I worked aircraft maintenance on the flightline. After going to another base and seeing more of what the other bases have to offer, this still sits pretty low on my list. I was consistently gone on deployments and if I was home, there were constant 12 hour shifts. This made seeing much of the local area incredibly difficult. I have gone and seen most of the local things but I'm not one for road-trips. Just to drive off the base is a 15 min ordeal. It's vast and covers quite a bit a ground. Many have described it as dreary or depressing, and I'd have to agree. I enjoy greenery, this base is brown for 9 mos of the year. During those 3 months of green lush fields, it looks breathtaking. Taking in the local nature is inspiring to say the least. I miss seeing the mountains or being so close to Tahoe and San Fran. I deduct 2 stars for the driving. If I didn't have to drive a minimum of a half hour to get to a city, it may have scored higher on the list.

I was stationed here from Jan 1967-June 1968. I worked at the B-52 Alert Facility and in the 456 SAW Command Post. Being young, new in the service and with no money, it wasn't a pleasant situation to be in. Plenty of dark days the first few months. Cold beer and the "Pink Frosty" made things a bit more tolerable on base. Went from there to Goose AB, Labrador and believe it or not, it was like night and day. We had some real good times there.

Very low morale here, would give 0 stars if I could.  Negative environment here, wish I never left HILL AFB. This base has ruined me with the Air Force, this will be my last base. Leaving the military thanks to you Beale!

Truck delivery @ hwy 65 south, turn left on South Beale rd s. Beale rd looks like a small country rd in about 4 mi the AFB main gate turn right before gate to truck inspection area there is a complete inside and out inspection so no illegal stuff as there is sniffing dogs after head back to the main gate and hand pass to guard, head up the road to gas station @ gas station turn right, proceed about 3 miles to corner with a black jet on the corner, turn left A ST, proceed about 1 mile pass Burger King turn turn left on 26th st, go about 1/2 mile docks are on the left dock door 2 is for meat loads.

Nice base have to drive too far for anything can get very depressing at times though 3 stars it is been to other bases and this is "ok"

Watched a U2 do a fly by. Never seen one flying.  My son was also impressed.

Seeing all of the aircraft launches was pretty cool.
