It is one of 18 high schools in Jefferson County. The school colors are forest green, gold, and white. The mascot is a bear. The principal is Lynn Torr. The school was a single room that served elementary grades one through eight. It was not until 1920 that the neighboring community decided to consolidate, thus giving the region its first high school. Before the school was built, all students planning to continue their education either had to live in or commute to schools in Denver. The Bear Creek Consolidated school combined five elementary school school districts. The four other schools were Montana School, Lakeview, Midway and Mount Carbon. The first class in 1923 consisted of five graduates. From this point on, the school was known as the Bear Creek Consolidated School.By 1950, all of the schools in Jefferson County had been consolidated and became the Jefferson County School District R-1.The class of 1952 became the first to graduate in the newly named Bear Creek High School.Although a fire in 1959 destroyed the original structure, classes were still held in the gymnasium. The new building was built just east of where the current school stands. This building stood for nearly 57 years until a new building, completed in 2009, was built where the original Consolidated School once stood.

I honestly really like the classes, some teachers and friends. But the guards are WAY too accusatory and some teachers. Nobody gets in trouble for talking about school shootings but as soon as a good kid gets suspended once everybody hates them. Most teachers are very nice and helpful! But some should not be teacher to be honest with you. I am a freshman and I am very shocked.
A coach is supposed to constructively correct an athletes mistakes, not degrade them in front of others, there is tough and then there is being a power hungry prick. You didn't see him addressing adults in that manner. And as long as his district condones his behavior he will never change it. Step up Bear Creek High School, your reputation is going to end up in a low low place. Shame on you Coach

People complain that they can't find nice friends yet they didn't look hard enough. 8/10 would go to Bear Creek again
I loved attending Bear Creek! Great school, Senior Field studies was a life changing event. Made great friends, graduated in 1996. Go Bears!
The Varsity soccer coach was talking down to a player from the other team about how terrible he played..what am embarrassing representation of a seemingly nice school! Wish he would have came from behind that gate and engaged in an adult conversation with me!!!
