The Bear Paddle Oakley location is amazing! My daughter started the program 5 years ago as a baby and has progressed wonderfully through the program! The instructors make learning fun while giving her guidance on how to become better swimmers The staff is friendly and has been very helpful with finding class times that work well with our families. We love This program so much that we started our 6 month old this month! We are a proud Bear Paddle family.
We love Bear Paddle for both of our kids and would recommend it to anyone! The teachers are very helpful and provide excellent feedback all while making it fun for the students. Being able to schedule make up lessons or change schedules has been easy as the front desk staff is extremely helpful.
We came in to get the free placement. My daughter was so excited to start lessons. It was a really nice environment & her instructor was so kind . However we got placed on a waiting list 3 MONTHS AGO. We haven’t been placed in a class yet . My daughter is upset and honestly so am I they estimated a 3 week max waiting period .
Great place for the kids to start getting used to the water as early as several months old and growing to being prepared to join a swim team by the time they reach level 7. The place is very convenient, right next to Oakley Plaza Kroger, it is always clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The coaches are hit or miss though. Some of them know and have more experience than others. I was happy with most of the coaches we had, but there were several that just wasted our time we are currently in level 7 - the highest level they offer. That being said, if you feel you are not getting what you need from the coach, just mention it at the front desk and they will move you to a different class. One other thought, sometimes the class has 4 kids, and the coaches have a hard time keeping up. Overall we are happy with Bear Paddle School.
I cannot say enough positive things about Bear Paddle and the Oakley Station swim teachers and staff. My 5 and 3 year old loved it. The pace and method at which they teach the children is truly remarkable. From getting them comfortable in the water, to learning to float, safety, and strokes, my boys have come a long way in just a few months. My 3 year old can sometimes be a handful, and the staff was always amazing at keeping him engaged and listening. They even switched swim teachers one day to help my 5 year old who didn't want to get in the water. The teachers are patient, kind, and will do anything to help make it a great experience for the children and the parents. I'll also mention the front desk did a phenomenal job at scheduling so that my two boys could swim either at the same time or right before/after each other to maximize my time there. We love Bear Paddle! Highly recommend.
2 employees working with 3 kids who can not keep full attention to kids. The trainers turned their backs on my 4 year old when she was over her head over and over. Also with 2 trainers vs 3 kids means you are paying for someone else’s time. At a $1.25 minute it seams you would get premium service. Today my daughter watched other kids be trained for 6 minutes just at the beginning of the lesson let alone throughout her lesson. 30 minute lesson. I’m disappointed.
The worst place! Madison the manager is just awful . They don’t care about families . I couldn’t make it there today because of the traffic then I called to give her my 30 day notice and she treated me Like garbage . I was a paying customer for over a year . Gas is 4.49 so sorry I live 45 mins away and don’t want to have to give an in person notice. Are they out of thier minds! Join the YMCA it’s way cheaper and offers so much more Bear paddle Makes you contract . I will never use them since they aren’t not understanding about makeup policy . Just wait until I blast them on YouTube . I have never been so disrespected by a so called manager Madison at Oakley station .
Bear Paddle has been wonderful for my two children. Not only to make them safer in the water, but also confident swimmers. The coaches were very patient with my apprehensive 2 year old and adapted their teaching to his personality and learning style. Now he can't wait for lessons and has become a little fish. My 4 yo is now a strong swimmer with aspirations for swim team this summer or next. We could not recommend them more. Coaches Lauren, Duncan, Kylie, Makaria, Carly, Danny and Emelia have been wonderful.
I love Oakely Bear Paddle Swim School and most importantly my daughter does! At 2 years old she asks me and her dad on a daily basis can she go swim! Her coaches have done an amazing job with her and she has transition 3 times already! They have made learning how to swim so comfortable for her she practically thinks she can swim 100% on her own! She’s definitely really close Thanks to a great team
I was nervous to start swim lessons with my 17 month old, because I had read mixed reviews about Bear Paddle. However, I found immediate comfort in the fact that I would be in the pool with my babe the whole time. My child has been in swimming pools, the ocean, baths, etc. so I never once considered the fact that he might not like swim lessons. Well, our first class he was very timid, nervous and there were tears. Coach Emelia is as great, though. She encouraged him without pushing him. She also encouraged me and acknowledged that each exercise was for a greater purpose. She gave me a lot of peace of mind. Class 2, same thing... he was nervous but brave. But class 3 is where the tables turned. He did it! There were smiles and splashes. Ever since, each class has brought accomplishments and peace. Coach Emelia rocks and I’m so proud of our babe. I’m glad we started classes, and would highly recommend starting even earlier!
