I write this review 2 years later after the passing of my father who was in the care of Beaufort memorial Hospital. My father came in feeling awful and he never came out .. I think Beaufort memorial did something to my father he was only 43 . He had multiple health issues he couldn’t walk and I feel as though they saw him as someone who was done for . My father suffered from panic attacks and he was having a hard time being away from my mother as he was very close to her. He called my mother screaming saying he couldn’t breathe which resulted my mother calling and their response was “ If he can scream , He can breathe “ For someone who’s in the medical field they should know when you are having a panic attack your mind is not functioning properly , as one is when not panicking . His oxygen was in the 70s and on high oxygen so I do believe so he couldn’t breathe. My father then was put on a ventilator and a nurse who was in “care” for him told my mother “ He’s not gonna Live” My mother was In tears and pure shock as was I and my family . I never saw my father again .. He had Christmas presents still under the tree . I was committed due to my breathing from covid and my oxygen was in the 80s so I could only imagine how my poor father felt . He did pass when I was in the hospital and I felt his palm touch my face I know he was there watching over me as I know Beaufort memorial was not . Me and my family are still saddened and very much angry because I know my father was just abandoned and not taken care of as one should be . He was a loving father and grandfather and a wonderful husband . The people who treated my father with such disrespect all I can say is god will handle you and if you’re ever in this position you are not treated with respect as you don’t deserve any. DO NOT GO TO BEAUFORT MEMORIAL. My uncle just left Yesterday august 21st 2023 and He told my mother a few things , He was thirsty and he asked for some water the nurse then replied “ Shut up you don’t need no water “ he was on dialysis he called and called for someone to help put a pan underneath him as he had to poop and they said okay and never came and he soiled himself. He never received any physical therapy because he could not feel his legs as they left him sitting there for 2 weeks and when he got home he fell and could not move the same day he was discharged. I don’t understand why these people/ doctors are in the medical field it’s truly heartbreaking. My mother has nightmares going on 2 years now from how he was treated. I have been put on medication due to my anxiety from my father’s death. God will take care of those who are evil because this treatment was pure evil.
Initially I thought it was a good hospital, and I thought my mother was receiving the care she needed. However, I realized they weren’t bathing her properly, they weren’t adjusting her position in the bed as she is bedridden, the attending physician was dismissive, and it seemed like they let her food get cold before someone decided to feed her. I’m glad that I arrived when I did to take over as well as take her home. To others, this may seem like a slight case of negligence or poor training, but to me, this goes beyond that. Let’s hope they do better in the future with other patients…
My husband was not doing well, so I took him to the ER. They were very helpful and listened to my concerns. Husband was admitted and stayed on the 5th floor. The team was amazing. Jeri, one of his nurses, even talked with me and explained everything calming my fears. Thank you so much Jeri. It meant a lot.
Went there for eye problem. People very nice. Had to wait about an hour expected. PA seemed good, projected confidence in his ability. Unfortunately his diagnosis was totally wrong which caused me to have problem a few days longer, but did advise to go to eye clinic for follow-up. Beaufort eye clinic is excellent and should be used instead of hospital ER
I brought my girlfriend to this hospital after an incident falling off of a horse. She was brought it at 1pm and was not even taken to a room for almost an hour and a half after screaming for help. She was not given ice for almost TWENTY MINUTES after asking repeatedly. The receptionist sat on her phone the entire time while i was consistently asking for ice for her. It is now 11pm and she is still in the room. We have been given very few updates and after five hours of waiting in her room we were finally told that she had two spinal fractures. The security guard was by far the rudest and most ignorant person i have ever met. He yelled at me and rolled his eyes when i tried to open the door while he was unlocking it, as well as giving me a hard time for asking to go into her room with her. I would never return to this location unless SERIOUS actions were taken
Went in with severe back and stomach pain. Left after they told me it was just a uti. Next morning I dry heaved in the bathroom for hours and couldn’t move off the floor. I had to wait for my husband to get home to help me up to go to the er. Since I couldn’t move I couldn’t pickup my antibiotics so when I went into the er one of the nurses yelled at me for not picking them up. That same night my doctor recommended I stay in the hospital because my white blood cell count was so low. I chose not to because I didn’t feel comfortable after being bashed. Next day I had to go in again and was given stronger antibiotics because mine weren’t working. This is where they told me it was in my blood stream. They had me come in the next day for a checkup where they gave me a room and made me stay the night in the er. I woke up to a male nurse sticking me with a needle and he looked at me and said “you don’t even look sick.” Not sure how that’s possible considering I could barely walk by myself and laughing or crying just made me cry more because it was so painful to do anything. Rude nurses
Hospitals that risk the lives of patients should no longer be allowed to operate. I took my son to the ER at Beaufort Memorial on the morning of May 28th; he was seen by Stacey Chase PA. The waiting room was NOT full, therefore, there plenty of opportunities to evaluate each patient thoroughly, but Stacey decided to breeze through evaluating my son. She KNEW he was wheezing and had a wet cough. She KNEW he was restless and crying. After claiming that he had an ear infection, she requested an x-ray for his lungs to rule out pneumonia we waited 2 hours for the results which she delivered by peeking her head through the curtain and disappearing, which I have a feeling was simply ordered to pad the bill. After waiting 2 hours for additional information, she came to the curtain to inform me of the medicine my son would be prescribed for his "ear infection." I asked her about his breathing because he was struggling to breath I recorded his breathing and wheezing as we waited to which she responded "Oh that's normal. His skin isnt pulling away from his ribs." Flash forward a few hours later and my 1 year old son was admitted to ICU in Atlanta, where he remained for 2.5 days on oxygen! He was suffering a severe allergy attack due to testing positive for the rhino virus. My son could have died at the hands of this negligent medical "professonal." Why did Stacey refuse to actually LOOK at my sons breathing when I expressed concern? A compentant medical professional would have checked his breathing to be 100% sure, but she stood at the curtain and gave her diagnosis. Stacey should NOT be allowed to practice medicine after displaying gross negligence toward patients. I will be filing a formal complaint immediately! I am absolutely disgusted.
Me and my family came up to south Carolina from Florida because my sister was having her second baby and when we arrived at the hospital they let in my parents, my sisters first born daughter, me and my other sister. They didn't let my daughter go in because she was under 18 years old despite being related, she didint get to see her new baby cousin for the first time.
Corrupt billing practices and rude "patient advocates" who have no idea what they are doing. Patient Advocate Rannell should be fired. They will bill you 3 years after a service and not tell you what it's for. They will also try billing your for the *provider portion* of the bill i.e., what they owe your insurance!. Lastly, if you have anything serious going on--AVOID THIS HOSPITAL or request a transfer. So many patients have died unnecessarily.
Worst hospital ever. My fiance and i waited 3 hours to be seen by a Doctor, then waited another 3 hours for a work excuse. We were in room 14, the nurse was very rude. Seeing that my fiance have Dyslexia she needed the nurse to show her where the work excuse was in the release packet but she refused to. Very rude
