We stopped here to fish for a little while in the early afternoon on a Wednesday. We were a bit disappointed in the amount of loose trash that blew around the place, as well as the multiple vehicles with their radios at annoyingly excessive levels. There are a couple of baseball diamonds, picnic tables/areas and lots of playground equipment along with some sort of restroom pavilion that was out of service. Luckily there were a couple of Porta Johns, but none had any toilet paper. We did catch three fish and were treated to two young Whitetail deer that seemed to be enjoying the day so it was worth the quick stop that we made.
I always pass by this place when cycling along the west bloomfield - clinton river - pontiac trail. Good stop to chill by at the benches near the fishing spot. Its nice and quiet. Or perhaps thats just me since i bike at random times between 5-7pm on weekdays/non peak hrs. Sometimes people would drive by with loud music on , park a bit, check out the place. Kids play by the swings and basketball court.
Good park in Pontiac area. Good facilities for children and paying ground for various games.
First time at this park today. I was here for a clean up with the Clinton River Watershed Council. I picked up half a pound of glass shards around the bathrooms. The playgrounds themselves were clean, and no glass. I saw a small mulberry tree with berries starting to ripen, so for anyone there, keep an eye out! This isn't my kind of park but it seems family friendly. Plenty of room for games and activities. I saw some pretty wildflowers, though nothing native.
I think it'd be a really nice park if it wasn't a dump. There's trash everywhere. In the hour we were there, 3 people came just to smoke. When the wind blew, all you could hear was trash going across the parking lot. I had to grab a broken glass bottle from the playground before my son grabbed it. However, if it could be cleaned and kept clean, then it could be really nice. It has a fitness area, baseball diamond, pond, two playground areas, etc.
Park almost seems like it might have been a golf course at one point. It's very well maintained and clean.
Clean park w/ several picnic benchs & a nice water view. Also has kid's play equipment & a bike trail nearby.
Cool park to hang out at,really no drama kids love it but the bathrooms are closed and the porrtypotties be terrible.. Playground: The kids love it and it's more then 1 spot for the kids to play at. Plus it's a basketball court also. With a work out station.. Dog-friendliness: Everyone bring their dogs there to run around ..
Pretty nice overall. Basketball hoops, baseball field, playground equipment and boat access.
This is a park I've visited over the past 60 years. The landscape is beautiful, slight hills, grass and nice trees. It's quiet, and a good walking park. It would be nice to have more picnic tables in closer proximity, in addition stationery grills! It's also a has a great lake and dam!
