Description

Beaver Brook Reservation is a public recreation area covering on the dividing line between the town of Belmont and the city of Waltham, Massachusetts. The state park is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.HistoryCreated in 1893, the state park was the first reservation established by the Metropolitan Park Commission. Its primary purpose was to protect a stand of 22 white oak trees known as the Waverly Oaks, which had been defended from destruction by landscape architect Charles Eliot. The last of the ancient trees succumbed to old age in the 1920s. A portion of the reservation was owned by the landscape architect Robert Morris Copeland (1830-1874), whose 19th-century home sits within the park. Other points of historical interest include a monument to the Waverly Oaks and the remains of a 19th-century fulling mill.Activities and amenitiesIn addition to a bike path, playing fields, woodlands, wetlands, a cascading waterfall, wading pool, and fishing opportunities, the reservation offers programs on wildlife and cultural history. Restrooms and a tot lot are also available.

Nice park! We like the park! It’s has free parking! It is good for dogs! You can enjoy walking, running and strolling around! There are benches for picnics!
A wonderful nature preserve in Belmont, good for walking, playing, or taking in nature during all the seasons. My favorite part is the hiking/walking trail network.
It's great to see such beautiful waterfall depending on the season though at a spot so close to Boston. Trials around are relatively easy to walk, great for people living in Boston and around to have some fun time here, if you don't have time to go far.
we love this place, we go there whenever we can. it looks like the image of paradise from Jehovah's Witnesses' booklets. it's just too bad the toilets are locked, because every time we need to go to the toilet we end up leaving.
WATER SPLASH IS ON!! 05/18/2022 LOVE THIS PLAYGROUND. it's just perfect. The water splash is close to the playground so the kids can run around freely.
Park has it all....water deck, playground and shade.... great place to have a kids birthday party..
Beaver Brook Reservation is right off the road but, easy to drive past. Once you park, you can walk a few paths/trails. I've only visited this reservation twice, so I'm really not sure what else they have to offer. I do enjoy watching & listening to the falls though.
Beautiful place my girls enjoyed it. There are tables and benches that people can use. Specially is you want celebrate birthday's
Great place for a nice walk. Kids love the playground. Dog friendly park.
Great place to take a short hike. Waterfalls and trees make you forget you are just a minute away from town.
