I took the 4 train from Burnside Ave straight to Lehman College and this was the most convenient stop ever and very satisfied with that train station and the 4 train.

It was also, until renovations in 2006, the only station in the entire subway system and along the IRT Jerome Avenue Line to have a barbed wire fence to be added to the Manhattan bound platform; this was added in an earlier renovation from the 80s that was meant to repair the New York City Subway stations and to prevent graffiti artists from tagging the 4 train, which has its home in the Mosholu Yard; the barbed wire fence was completely removed from the Manhattan bound platform during renovations.
I like this station because of it's beautiful art work on the walls. The colors are just gorgeous. Also, the view from the top it's awesome. Compared to the other train stations, this one is not too crowded most of the times.
Nearest stop to the Apex at Lehman College. There are fifty steps from the ground to the subway platform so keep this in mind if accessibility is an issue. Several busses nearby: bx26 bx 28 bx 10 and westchester 4 & 20. There is a trainyard nearby which is a mildly interesting amusement while waiting.
Always piss near the stairs, rarely gets cleaned. And always has an unpleasant smell. But after all. It is just a train station. 4 trains arrive fairly frequent
A bit of a sketchy area at night under the tracks.
It's a good stop, specially because of the many buses downstairs.
This right here is also a Terminal station for 4's going in and out of the storage yard during Rush Hours.
Stop is easily accessible by the 4 train. You can transfer to the D train by walking a couple of blocks, or access the various buses to get where you're going.
