Bedo's Leatherworks, Inc. was founded by Bedros Doudaklian in 1977. Mr. Doudaklian emigrated his Armenian family to the States from Beirut, Lebanon. He brought with him a wealth of knowledge and skills in the shoe making industry. After starting his business, he trasnferred his custom shoe making expertise into the shoe repair field. The sole focus of the business was to educate his customers concerning the quality of shoe repair. Over the next decade, he strived to deliver quality workmanship and to achieve quality service. His goals were to expand the business and provide the customers with 100% satisfaction.
Mr. "Bedo", a nickname given by his customers, worked long hours to provide for his family and to achieve his desired dreams. Later in the years, he trained his youngest son, Steve, on the ins and outs of the trade. Mr. Bedo's vision was for Steve to become the next successor of the business. Due to unforseen illness, Mr. Bedo passed away in 1991, leaving his son with the legacy he had built.
Steve also had a prominent vision as to how he could expand the business. In addition to doing shoe repairs, the following services were supplemented: leather/suede garment repairs, custom making leather goods, luggage and leather repairs. Due to the overwhelming growth, Steve relocated the business to 412 W. Broad street in 1998. Bedo's has been serving the City of Falls Church and the tri-state area for over 23 years. Quality craftsmanship is recognized through several awards that have been presented to the business.
