Arrived around 5:45pm, and was finally able to leave at 7:30pm. The last 22 minutes of that was 6 minutes of eating and 16 minutes of waiting on the ticket. Pics show a lack of customers causing the poor service We had our drinks refilled exactly 0 times during that ridiculous wait. The one positive was the fried mushrooms. They were pretty good. I ordered the one of the specials, which was Cajun Salmon and Shrimp. It was $18.95. The shrimp were rubbery and the lack of flavor was an insult to Cajun cuisine. The rice had to be ordered separately, which is wild for an almost 20 dollar meal. I had sweet potato fries as my 1 included side. They were almost halfway crispy on the outside and complete mush inside. That meal gets 0 stars. My toddler had the grilled cheese sandwich with fries. I think his basic grilled cheese was the best thing we ordered. His fries were also completely mush inside and outside. He couldn't pick them up without them falling to pieces. We also ordered the French Dip sandwich. The bread was soft but the meat was tasteless. No flavor in the sandwich and the dip was like tinted water. Fries with that were also a mush mess. 0 stars on that one, as well. We left here knowing we wouldn't be back and that we wasted our evening.
This place was absolutely phenomenal. We were disappointed when all the other restaurants closed at 2:00 and we had not had lunch yet. Then we pulled up to this place and honestly I was disappointed because I thought I was going to have to eat bar food. Boy was I wrong. I would go out of my way to eat here again. Great portions, great flavor, variety on the menu. Probably the best meatloaf I've had. It just all seemed to be prepared very thoughtfully. My wife had the Cesar wrap and it was packed full of chicken and goodies, not just lettuce like some other places. Love love love it! Kid-friendliness: Had two seating areas. One that was more diner style and will lit. The other was more bar style with darker atmosphere and tvs with music.
This place hit the spot after a long day of hiking to and from Virgin Falls. Good menu diversity and friendly service make this a returnable restaurant. Everyone in our group said their food was excellent. The atmosphere was no nonsense casual which seemed to be family friendly.
Lovely drive to get here. Wonderful food and service. Well worth the hour drive. I am looking forward to the next visit.Food: 5/5
I’m stuffed! Couldn’t leave a morsel on the plate. Great food, service, and music! The bread was warm, the steak and salmon were perfectly cooked, and the roasted potatoes had a little crunch yum! We asked for A-1 but didn’t need it! And that pesto sauce with the salmon. So good.Food: 5/5
Took my wife for a birthday dinner. She said the ribs were great. Really enjoyed a smokey old fashion. Hit a spot. The folks were nice and very patient. We will be coming back.Food: 5/5
When an excellent hole in the wall! The staff were amazing and the food was even better! I can’t speak highly enough about the excellent prime rib, cooked perfectly! I also had the potato boats which were monstrous and baked crispy. No shortage of flavor here. 10/10 will return when in the Crossville area.
Was looking for a place for a nice dinner with family on a Sunday afternoon and decided to try Beef and Barrel. It's not much to look at from the outside and not too fancy on the inside, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Menu has a good selection and I had the prime rib. I ordered the 10 oz cut, but it was huge, way more than 10 oz I think! It was the most tender and juicy prime rib I've ever had.. Very well seasoned; It did not need anything else to make it taste good but I had some horseradish with it which is I must every time I eat prime rib. Salad and baked potato were average. Could have used more toppings on the salad. The prime rib was good enough I will go back though. There is a bar in the back and and ask not to be seated there if you don't want noise from bar patrons and TV. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Visiting family and we went to this restaurant for lunch. I had the fried shrimp with tater tots. They exceeded my expectations. Tails were already pulled before frying. Breading was good and flaky, their cocktail sauce was good as well.Food: 5/5
We lucked into finding this great restaurant that also had a dog-friendly patio! We had the patty melt, the french dip, and sweet tea. The cole slaw and french fries that came with our sandwiches were also great! The service, which Chelsea provided, was excellent! She provided fast, friendly service and even gave our dog some water and gave us “to go” containers for our iced tea when we headed back on the road. A great experience all around. Highly recommend!
