A nice park along the Potomac with good views of the national harbor and the river. Plenty of shaded picnic tables and parking for visitors. The walk down from alexandria along the mount vernon trail is a bit long, but it is a pleasant bike ride along the river. The neighboring nature area has good walking paths. Bathrooms are available. A good place for a picnic. Restrooms: They exist Picnic area: Plenty of shaded tables with views of the river.

Great fyn place for everyone & asset to the neighborhood towns. Restrooms: Clean
Cute place! We walked along the trail. There was a lot of wildlife, which was especially exciting for my husband who's into birdwatching. Restrooms: Restrooms near the boat area / marina. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed on leashes.
A beautiful park right across the potomac. The park is huge and got few benches to enjoy the picnic. I went on the morning of weekday and it was quiet apart from a couple enjoying their time and an old man who walked out to socialize with someone. You will often find a folk of geese here and there are so many of them around 1 pm in the park and then they all fly back in the river and that’s such a beautiful sight. Ample of parking available.
Delicious pizza, friendly staff, and beautiful outdoor area! We will definitely be coming here again! Also, the outdoor seating area is dog-friendly for those who wish to bring their 4-legged friends with them. Dog-friendliness: The waiter provided a bowl of water for the dog at the table next to us, which was super sweet!
A perfect place to go in a light mist or rain! I saw no one here on an early Thursday afternoon,, many cardinals spotted. Just perfect. You can see boats from the distance. Very nice place to feel calm. :
The perfect trail for a morning run, evening walk, or a nice picnic with friends. It’s safe and there is typically plenty of parking. I would note that they don’t always cut the grass, so be aware of that. Also beware of crazy bikers who think they are in a race and have no respect for walkers and runners. This is a family friendly park as it should be.
One of my favorite places to walk. Small portion of the trail is a boardwalk. Most of it is close to the road so it’s noisy, but there is a parallel trail that is more secluded and quiet than the main one. It’s very green and usually not as busy as the northern part of the trail close to old town & Reagan airport.
It has been 4 years since I have been here. I only have 1 pup then and have 2 now. I parked 2 parking lots north of this park, because the first lot was full when I got here. There were several large group gatherings. From the 2nd parking lot, the walk to the end if the boardwalk is about 2.4 miles. The bike path, walking South, will take you to the trail with a slight left to hop on to the trail. The view of the water and boats made the hike even more beautiful and enjoyable. I look forward to getting on the boardwalk where the amazing view of the marshland and water. There might be poison ivy along the trail, because and staying on the trail is best. This trail is very dogfriendly. I have a feisty little one toward other dogs, and everyone I encountered were so nice. It's such a nice e doze of natural medicine from all the nice people, bring my spirit up... something I needed given how this country took another bad turn to darkness with mandatory vaccinations for schools, hospitals, small/mediym/large companies, military, federal employees and contractor...take the jab or no job.
Went for a Sunday morning bird walk conducted by Northern Virginia Bird Club. It was worth it. Saw baby eagles, bald eagles, spoonbill and many other birds. I learned a lot about identifying birds. Will visit again definitely.
