Had a pedicure here. My technician did an excellent job but the seats are not very comfortable. They are flat like the beds in a doctor's office. Actually made the massager in the seat feel strange. The place is otherwise lovely and people very nice.
I was on a little getaway and my husband surprised me for two services. I went in for a massage and was supposed to get an additional service which was massage 50 and a foot massage was supposed to be additional 25. Unfortunately, I only ended up getting one service and because I was in the end of massage I thought it was a little odd that I was told I could exit to the front after using the restroom. I had asked the front desk if I was seeing another person and I was told no. I said my understanding was that when you get a massage you also get a foot massage with that but my husband paid additional for an extra 25 minutes for a special foot rub what you get a foot soak and all that great stuff because I stayed on my feet all day. The front desk said that would be too long for someone and their hands can’t handle that. I was stunned because I said no this was an additional service. It didn’t set right so I had to call the salon back and talk with a manager and she did agree that I did not end up getting the second service. However, I was relaxed from the massage but I wish the atmosphere could’ve kept going and I could’ve continued with my next service and had a longer spa day. I was kind of disappointed in that matter. I never get to treat myself so in that aspect I was really bummed I was only there for the weekend and who knows I could act on some thing else. I was just disappointed because they asked me to come in a half an hour early and then I didn’t get my other service. So the whole thing was just really not what I expected. For once I was the customer and it didn’t really go how I expected. I’m part of this industry which made it even more disappointing and knowing how things are suppose to be executed.
I gave two stars just for the massage. I went for a spa day for my birthday and was so excited!! I had a massage first which was absolutely wonderful!! Next up was my facial and I was so disappointed. Not sure what was being put on my face. It hurt and i could not relax. Next I had a luxury mani/pedi it was absolutely horrible!! There was nothing luxurious about it. I can't believe I paid that much money and could have gone to a cheap nail salon and had better results!! None of my cuticles were trimmed like they should have been. No massage of legs and feet. I truly feel I was taken advantage of. I will not go back. Happy birthday to me
We booked a couples spa day which consisted of massages, pedicures, and facials. We knew going in that the massages were separate but were told everything else would be together. The good: the massages for both of us were great! Only high praises. When I had an issue, we were not charged for the service facial for me. My husband was very happy with all services. The bad: the facials were not together like promised. I didn’t book a couples day to spend it away from my husband the entire time. This was not a covid issue, I asked. I asked the woman doing my facial to tell me what she was putting on my face. A few minutes in, after she had not once spoken to me but had put what sounded like a drill to my face, I told her I was having extreme anxiety over not knowing what was coming or what was going on my face. Instead of telling me what she was doing moving forward, she told me she was done, flipped on the light switch, and walked out the door. I awkwardly walked back into the waiting room with the other people. She came up to me and I told her it was okay, I’ll still pay and that I just wanted to wait for my husband. I said I didn’t want to talk to a manager. I was really embarrassed with the other people in the waiting area. The manager came anyway and asked me to explain, which I did, but I felt very awkward doing so. The manager asked if I wanted to do the pedicure and I said yes, not knowing it would be with the same girl. I would have said no if I would have known. After waiting an hour for my husband, I was taken back to do the pedicure with the same girl. These were with my husband, who didn’t know what had happened. The pedicure was so awkward with the girl, again, never talking to me, that my husband jokingly asked me after if I had murdered her whole family and why she hated me. Thats how thick the awkwardness was. The pedicure, overall, was far below in terms of quality than the everyday pedicures I get locally for 1/3 the price.
My husband surprised me with a day at the spa, the "Journey of Indulgence". I enjoyed the body sugar scrub, massage and facial, very relaxing. I was very disappointed with the "lunch", manicure, and hair cut/style. I ended with having to pay $15 extra because I had gel polish on, which took longer to remove. No one asked what type of polish I had on! I asked several times, do I need to go get dressed BEFORE my nails are polished, "no" I had plenty of time for them to dry. Well, I ended up with wet nails, had to get dressed because the place was closing soon, so imagine what happened to my nails! I had a decent hair cut when I came in but because I could not do the pedicure I opted to have a cut and style, big mistake! NO hair style when I left! Not the quality I was expecting!
The Swedish and Therapeutic Massages were wonderful! Michael and Kayla did a great job. Both were very professional and attentive to our needs.
My husband and I both recently spent the afternoon at Bellissimo Spa. We both had wonderful massages, facials and pedicures. All of the staff is very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the saunas, steam room and wet area. All areas were clean and tranquil. Bellissimo Spa & Salon deserves a 5 Star rating from Google. I have read the Google reviews and one of the 1 star ratings was actually in reference to the Hotel not the Spa - Google should be monitor the reviews that they post to be sure the review is for the actual business listed !
For the prices you pay, you would hope to get a really special experience. I had a mani/pedi and a cut/style. First of all — 3.5 hours. I wouldn’t have minded if the experiences had been quality. The lady who did my services was super pleasant but the services were super mediocre. She didn’t even rub in the lotion on my hands at the end — I had to do it myself? Normally even the cheapest pedicures they rub your legs and feet just a little — nothing. And they had a super limited selection of matching gel/non gel polish. I ended up going with a color I don’t really like because the selection was so limited. It’s only been a few hours and I’m noticing missed/weak spots on the mani. I don’t like fussing when I go to places like this because it’s supposed to be relaxing. Also the cut and style does not look like the picture I showed her at all, but by the time we got around to the cut I wasn’t expecting it would because of how lackluster the mani/pedi had been. I’m just really disappointed. Won’t be returning. I tried to subtly ask the girl at the front desk if I could back out of the cut/style as I expected I would be unhappy but she said that “not be possible” as we already paid.... no it would be possible it would just be inconvenient. Update: Maincure started to fall apart after 5 days.
I decided to get a massage last minute. Best decision I've made all week. We drove down to Mississippi for the day from New Orleans and the difference between the two hotels is night and day. The spa is amazing. Service is great, a little slow but it is a relaxed environment. I got the therapeutic massage from Ericka. It was one of the best massages I have ever had. If you like the type of massage that gets all the knots out and leaves you a little sore and wonderful feeling, Ericka is your girl. Her technique is different than what I've experienced, in a very good way.
Had a Swedish Aromatherapy massage and it was great and the only reason I’m giving 1 star! No complaints there! I had a Bellissimo facial right after my massage and it was AWFUL! I was in facial room #3 and it’s inside the salon area and the lighting is nothing geared towards relaxation. There was no music playing and I could hear the hairdressers conversation with her client and the blow dryers...not exactly what you want to hear when trying to relax. Also told the Esthetician multiple times to add more pressure on the scalp massage and her response was I don’t want to disturb the skin on your face?!?!?!?! Wouldn’t recommend the facial to anyone.
