My dad was a recent resident before he received his angel wings due to his failing health. Our family was always greeted with a smile. I do recommend this facility to others. I did speak with a few residents and they seemed happy as well. They were lonely but that falls on family or resident that chooses not to participate in activities.
Worst place to work doesn't take residents grievances serious. Management is extremely unorganized. Residents are scared to call sometimes depending on who's working. Residents are also left soiled. Worked there for about 2 weeks was fired for voicing my concerns.
I am a traveling nurse who took a contract at the Bay at Belmont. I was scheduled to orientate with a agency nurse but Kate, weekend supervisor, changed the schedule and put me with her friend Jessica a Shift Key nurse. I thought everything was going great but Kate pulled me into her office and stated Jessica said I had been condescending with her and argumentative with a patient. Kate then told me to go home and that the Administrator would call me the next day. I called my recruiter and left. The next day my agency was told I walked out mid shift. I can produce references from at least 7 DONs from at least 7 states. Should you trust the care of anyone or anything to unethical prevaricators. My grandmother always said never trust a liar. And other than to insure that there would be shifts available to work, why would these two people do this. How desperate are they? Meanwhile a nurse refused to go check on a patient complaining of chest pain and despite the fact I was not clocked in I accompanied the 10-6 nurse from another station to assess this patient, I bet that nurse is still allowed to work at Belmont. I forgot to mention that I traveled 800+ miles to get there to be condescending and argumentative. What sane adult does this
A close friend of mine worked at this facility and what I’ve heard about the faculty makes me sick. A nurse didn’t want to take the time to feed a dementia patient and when my friend questioned the nurse they said the patient “wouldn’t remember anyways”. The dementia patients get it the hardest considering this is a lot of the nurses attitudes. This is just one of the many examples of how poor the mindset of the staff is. If you care for your loved ones don’t send them here!!!
As a medically complex patient family member was doubled up in a room without access to anything. Had almost no needs met - medications weren't verified, they didn't even have life-saving epipens. Response times to room were 45 minutes plus for emergency calls, and had to call 911 multiple times on a barely charged phone, and got yelled at by staff for saving their own life. Extremely low care ratios. Place smells, most residents are cognitively incapacitated or drugged so cannot complain. They put on a nice show at daytime when visitors are allowed and management is there, but when you're left there to fend for yourself it's a death trap, with prison high carb food, no support for special diets, and zero support. They accept anyone, even those beyond their capacity and hospitals are happy to send patients there. Also have seen by neighbors to be one of the most highly dispatched for EMS. If you care about a loved one do not send them here.
I'm the POA of a formerly homeless elderly man who has been a resident at Belmont for several years. I've found Belmont nursing staff to be caring of him and dedicated to providing him the best care possible. The facility is not a vacation designation but the love and concern of all the staff is comforting.
This place used to be terrible about 10 years ago when my father stayed here. It was with hesitation that I went in to visit a family member 10 years later. I was quite pleasantly surprised. Most of the carpet and living rooms are new. It's well lit and well staffed. The food was decent nothing fancy nothing bad. There are still some pretty strong smells in the air that they don't a dress but most importantly it's really well staffed when we have been there. The one area that would be well improved as if they had some nice outdoor seating for more than a few people.
This nursing home is humble in appearance but they are absolute rock stars in patient care. The staff is loving, kind and helpful. The CNAs are exceptional. My father was happy and comfortable during his stay and we grew to really love and appreciate the staff. An undiscovered gem in my book.
The quality of nursing care was terrible save for a few of the devoted nurses. The human recourses person would be better described as inhuman. Her treatment of residents was consistently terrible. Katie seemed to thrive on treating patients as less then human and a waste of her time. It always seemed she was annoyed or angered when approached by a patient. Also my medical records were deliberately entered incorrect. HIPPA laws were ignored in my care.
You can NEVER get ahold of them over the phone. Whenever you call the number listed, it is a busy tone. Very unprofessional and a little shady.
