Sad to see this iconic place go. But I got a great deal in the closing sales

If you like an old-fashioned dime store.. this is a place for you! Pleasant staff, convenient postal drop off and stamps, and lots of fabrics and supplies, picture framing, office/school supplies and crafts. Nice selection. Prices higher than elsewhere, but if you're desperate, they often have it.

Well here is another business soon to close in the community of fergus falls. It is the last and only marked up craft, hobby store left. However the staff was the most helpful and courteous I have seen in a long time.

This is such a disappointment. I used to LOVE Ben Franklins, and this one is just miserable looking and run down. The shelves are very empty. It's clear that the store is dying.

I only go when I'm desperate. They are so severely over priced, it's laughable. The old ladies clucking around aren't friendly nor helpful. I remember once in a casual conversation with one near the fish section they for some reason have the audacity to have, mentioning that I wished I could save one of the bettas as they are kept in deplorable condition. As all of their fish are. And she asked me what I'd meant. And I explained they're all sickly and aren't meant for those tiny bowls. And she argued with me right there that they preferred those bowls and were healthy. Several were DEAD! Lmao. "Our fish guy says they're healthy". I've been keeping fish for years, please offer proper fish care information. Those old ladies just aren't doing it. I'd even help write care guides.

Awesome ladies working here! I was looking for a new project and couldn't decide. One was very helpful and patient trying to find something that was beginner level. Then helped me find everything I would need. Then the lady that rang me up was explaining how to do the project. She even gave me ideas if I get stuck!

They treat all customers as criminals. I was absolutely disgusted by the behavior of lazy employees and instead of being active in customer service I was treated like a criminal. There are signs all over store directing you because you MAY be a criminal. The clerk's could be much more proactive in watching for actual criminals instead of being incredibly lazy and treating EVERYONE as a criminal. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I actually warn people of the treatment clerk's put upon any customer. It's a disgrace and will not ever shop there again.

I have no idea why this place still exists. It's been in the same location for 30+ years and never been very busy. It's a decent art and craft store, but I get the strange feeling its just some kind of front. There is no way they could make enough money to be profitable. Maybe having a postal desk is helping them in some way?

It's really nice to be able to still find a Ben Franklin. When I was there, they had some awesome clearance deals on winter stuff. Staff was super friendly. Would def go there again!!
