Working with Eric at Benetrends is nothing short of a pleasure... every time. Why? Because he actually cares about helping people... whether or not they even use Benetrends services. He is passionate about helping people understand their funding options, and allowing aspiring entrepreneurs to achieve their business ownership dreams. My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Eric S at Benetrends as we considered various funding options for purchasing our DonutNV franchise. What we appreciated most about Eric is that his focus was not on what was beneficial for Benetrends, but rather on helping us make the best decision for our situation. He guided us as if he was guiding a close family member. We cannot thank Eric enough for his advice and would highly recommend speaking with him.
Benetrends was fantastic in doing the work to set up a ROBS for us. However, over the first year, their ability to respond to questions and meet deadlines became a concern. We asked for and received a new analyst. That new analyst was wonderful to work with over the next several years. He was responsive, knowledgeable, timely, and accurate. Unfortunately, we learned in early 2022 that he had left Benetrends. Since then, we have lived through an experience identical to that of our first year. Benetrends’ ability to timely calculate contributions and even file Form 5500 has been a challenge that never ceased. Communicating via email and phone has been almost exclusively one-way only. After suffering through this experience over the last six months, we decided to terminate our ongoing services agreement with Benetrends, opting for a different TPA.
Larry and the team have been incredibly helpful! they answered all my questions and helped every step of the way towards helping me open my business! They continue to help with any concerns even after opening
Great for the initial consultation. However, once you decide to work with these guys and pay them money, they no longer keep you informed of what is going on. Currently in the process of getting an SBA loan and was told I would hear from them "soon" with offers. More than 3 weeks go by and nothing. I emailed to get a status and get a response with an offer letter that is 22 days old. No explanation of anything, nothing else. We were told they were shopping multiple banks, but no details on anything, just one offer letter they couldn't be bothered to send when they received it. We also paid for a ROBS rollover which went slightly better than the SBA is going. I really wish I had chosen FranFund over Benetrends.
Larry is a truly trusted advisor. He has helped us navigate quite complex corporate structures and provides really insightful advise which has saved us close to $1m. He is a true professional and makes time nights and weekends for his customers. I'd strongly recommend Larry to any entrepreneur who is seeking advise about how to structure their new company.
I worked w/ Wendy and Zach at Benetrends through Rainmaker process. Both were extremely professional and knowledgeable as I created my C-Corporation and Retirement Plan. I highly recommend Benetrends if you are considering investment options.
Been with them for 16 years and while the yearly hassle of filling out the forms was somewhat overly complicated 95% of the blanks do not change year to year but you still must fill them out and they have consistently never given financial advice, shutting down the plan has been one of the worst experiences of my life. We are 8 months in and literally no end in sight. To say that they continue to ask for more documentation some that was previously provided and seem to be completely at a loss for advice would be understatements. I have chosen to hire a 3rd party to help me get through it. If I had known how bad the back end was going to be, I would have never entered the front door.
