Benny's Italian Restaurant was just a dream to Bernardo (Benny) 26 years ago when he came to the United States from Carini, Sicily. After years of working in Italy as a carpenter, he decided to search for the "American Dream", and moved to Pennsylvania. He started as a dishwasher in a bustling Italian restaurant in 1989. After working his way up to manager, he felt it was time to buy a restaurant of his own. Before setting out on his adventure, he and his loving, accepting, understanding, and close to perfect lady, Martha tied the knot in 1997. They bought a small pizzeria here in Chambersburg and began evolving it into the restaurant it is today.With the most recent remodel, Benny and Martha decided to bring a more trendy and industrial feel to create a more urban environment. Benny wants to bring the culinary experiences and flavors of his childhood to the patrons of his restaurant.We hope you enjoy your culinary experience!

Great food and prices. Definitely will be back! Food was excellent! Each dinner comes with garlic bread and a salad. Pizza was also great!

Order the steak and cheese and it was just that a steak and cheese nothing more nothing less.  The bread was very good and the meat was dry and way too much pepper. It would have been nice if lettuce tomato and mayonnaise was added to the sub. The order I ordered online was supposed to be ready at a certain time I waited that time and went to pick up the order but when I got there the order wasn't even started and I had to sit around in a cold waiting area. I would suggest calling in the order.  The jury is still out if I'll return or not.

We ordered the crab & shrimp pasta and also the salmon &crab pasta. Both were prepared quickly and served by a very pleasant staff. Garlic bread was delicious and large quantity. Caesar salads were also very fresh, with plenty of croutons and fresh grated cheese. Experience was very good and we will return again to try some other menu items.

The pricing on the menu is not correct.  The waitress said that everything went up a dollar.  Although mine had went up $1.75.   The money is not an issue.   The issue is that they need to tell customers this when ordering or get new menu’s.  I just wonder if the price was  a random draw from a hat.   Nothing like a surprise when the bill comes.

Fantastic food! Each meal that was ordered was fresh and delicious.  Will return again for sure!

Not sure if ownership changed but sure seems like that way.  Ordered Margherita Pizza, pizza came to the table as a cheese pizza, no fresh mozzarella dollops and zero I mean zero sauce.  The crust was flavorless, dough was certainly not the same as I remember.  Also ordered steak fajitas and quesadillas which weren’t bad but also not great either.  The service was also slow and waitress keep bringing us wrong refills.  The A/C must have been broke because it was just as hot inside as outside.  Unfortunately my family will not be coming back to Benny’s.  The quality, service and experience has changed for the worse.  Sad to see such a nice little restaurant decline.

Must have new ownership, the food has changed for the worse. Benny’s used to have a unique thinner crust, great sauce, and light on the cheese. Now it’s nowhere near the same. The pizza is just another pizza joint pie, nothing special for the price. Large pizza and 2 mozz sticks was $30. The mozzarella sticks are just frozen store bought and baked in the oven. Not real deal deep fried mozz sticks. Very disappointed. Rumor has it the same people also bought Franks Taste of Italy in Mont Alto, and their food has suddenly become equally disappointing. When it was the real Bennys and Franks, both places are top notch. Now both are horrible. Won’t be back to either.

This place is cute and the waitress was so friendly! The food was also very good. I got the three cheese ziti and the person I was with got the chicken vodka dish. Both were amazing but the chicken vodka was by far the best Italian food I’ve ever had. If I’m ever back this way again I’ll definitely be back

Really good pizza.  Excellent fresh made dough.  10/10 a+
