Facebook Policy for the Parks and Recreation Department
This is the official Facebook page of the City of Benton, Parks and Recreation Department.
This page is intended to serve as a gateway for communication in bridging the gap between the community and the Parks and Recreation Department.
The Parks Department Facebook page was created to facilitate the exchange of information with the public at large. To promote such exchange, the city encourages and welcomes comments from the general public about issues related to our park system and programs. With that said, however, the department reserves the right to regulate the content of, and where necessary delete completely, any objectionable entry that appears on its page. The department is responsible for monitoring all postings to its Facebook page and may take appropriate action whenever necessary, and at its sole discretion, to protect other page visitors from inappropriate or otherwise harmful information and links.
While this is a limited public forum, it is also family friendly, so please keep your comments and wall posts clean.
To that end, the city will remove as soon as feasible any posting that involves:
• Advertisements of any kind.
• Profane language or content.
• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.
• Explicit or implied sexual content.
• Conduct implying, promoting, or encouraging illegal activity.
• Information that might compromise the safety or security of the public
• Any other posting that, by its nature or content, might harm public welfare.
• Comments or postings that do not pertain to the original post.
• Repeated comments which are in the form of spam.
• Comments or postings which are in violation of the existing policies of the City of Benton.
• Comments or postings which do not show proper consideration for the privacy of others.

The City of Benton Parks and Recreation has several parks:
Tyndall Park which offers Girls Fast Pitch Softball, tennis courts, skate boarding ramps, playgrounds, a splash pad, walking trail, pavilions, community hall to rent.
Bernard Holland has boys baseball and adult slow pitch softball with a playground area.
Lyle Park has a boat launch with picnic tables by the Saline River.
Sunset Lake has a walking trail, pavilion and fishing pier.
Owens-Mooney Park is located in historical downtown Benton and has a decorative water fountain, clock, picnic table and benches.
Hooked on fishing has 3 fishing piers.
Ralph Bunch Park has a playground, picnic area, pavilion, basketball court and a ball field.
Lake Norrell has a public boat ramp for easy access to the lake for fishing, boating, and water skiiing.
