My son has blossomed at US Black Belt. He loves going to practice and the staff and facility are professional, encouraging and strict in the perfect ways. We started going during COVID, and though adequate precautions were taken, these never interfered with our experience, which says a LOT about the program. I love what they teach, how they teach, and the community that is fostered. I highly, highly recommend U.S. Black Belt.
Master Shin is the best instructor .He is great with the kids. Our child has been going to the school for over 4 years and Master Shin has done a great job. Going to U.S Black Belt was one of the best decisions we have made for our daughter.
My 6-year-old grandson has been going to U.S. Black Belt, instructed by Master Shin, since the school has opened in New Hartford. I have noticed a positive difference in my grandson’s attitude & and over all behavior. Master Shin has the patients & knowledge that is needed in the growth of young minds helping them establish a calm & controlled behavior.
Master Shin has an innate talent to work with children. I have two sons who went to several different martial art classes in New Hartford over the years. The difference cannot be more dramatic. Instead of rigid classes with sometimes scary master and rigid routine in other places, I found the open and encouraging atmosphere of the U.S.Black Belt very kid-friendly and creative. My sons are always eager to go to class to have a fun and don't even notice how fast they learn techniques. I would say that four months of training with Master Shin gave them more than two years in other places. We all are very happy that U.S.Black Belt came to our neighborhood and my kids are looking forward for years of training to become black belts themselves.
When my son began Tae Kwon Do classes, he lacked coordination and focus. I have been amazed at the improvements that my son has made since he began attending classes. He began classes in September, and he has made steady improvement with his dexterity, attention and self-confidence. Academically, his grades have improved due to his focus and control. I attribute these changes to the instructor, Master Shin and the philosophy that he teaches to his students. Master Shin is a wonderful instructor. His lessons are fresh, creative and engaging. He is attentive to each student throughout the lesson, and makes sure that they are acquiring the skills that they are taught. When he sees a student struggling, he is quick to modify instruction to help the student achieve the desired outcome. He is patient and fair with his students, but he challenges and requires their best effort in each class. Each class that I have attended, students are eager to do what Master Shin requests. He encourages and applauds each student’s effort and success. The studio is safe, clean and equipped with needed instructional tools.
What started as a search for something to help our grandson gain more focus has turned into a "family affair" that includes his two sisters, his mom and us - his grandparents! We were immediately impressed with Master Shin's heart as well as his "art" when it came to relating to not only our grandchildren, but also to us as adults. With classes for children and adults, as well as "family classes", we have had great times of learning, fitness and fun! Others who have since come to US Blackbelt have also been impressed with the teaching, discipline, expertise, kindness and fun that Master Shin conveys with every student in every class. We wholeheartedly support Master Shin's school of Tae Kwon Do, fully trust his competence and highly respect his character. We consider it a privilege to know him and to have the opportunity to learn from a Korean Tae Kwon Do master!
