Berkeley Fire Department

A passive aggressive, rude woman on the other end of the line announcing herself as "Administration" I tried to get some information about the process of filing a fire permit for an event we want to host. Instead of a normal discussion, I get a patronizing attitude and repeated rude remarks. She tells me things like "I'm an adult and I should know when my school starts" when I try to learn more about the Berkeley Fire Department's collaboration with Calgreeks and IFC Interfraternity Council. I was confused why the school deadlines suddenly correspond with Berkeley Fire Dept. fire permits for fraternities. Her tone is angry, heated and aggressive. It was difficult to stay professional and courteous with her. In the middle of our conversation, she says "This is a waste of time!" and almost hangs up. I was shocked! Does not pick up during business hours when I call back 4:40pm. Their business hours are M-F 8am-5pm Given the negative connotation of members of Greek life, I do not blamer her, but her conduct should still have been more professional. I highly recommend the Berkeley Fire Dept. to speak to this woman to notify her that her conduct is not acceptable.
