Bernhard’s German Bakery and Deli

About

"Old fashioned, down-to-Earth German baking and cooking"

"Our baked goods may resemble the flavors of a traditional European deli, but it’s our old-fashioned customer service that will really bring you back to the warm German bakeries of decades past. There's nothing like the wafting smell of fresh bread to give the feeling of home, of food made with love. And just like when you were a kid, you can enjoy carbs guilt-free with our simple, organic ingredients that take bread back to its basics. Everything you need for a delicious meal, we carry at our bakery, deli, and grocery -- we’re your one-stop for an authentic taste of Germany right here in Atlanta."

Love it I thought Lidl was the only place with german bread but they got it, too & lots of other things I been missing from home little pricey but totally worth it!
We drove forty minutes to visit this little bakery shop, because we heard that they make the best European style bread. Expectation exceeded.
Great people working in there. Having a sandwich on a fresh baked bread is the best! I had my favorite weisswurst sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the various pastries and desserts. The workers are very friendly and talk to you about the food. Only complaint is that there’s no place to sit down and eat at all. I think they would get so much more business if they just put a few benches or small tables out. Otherwise great place to drop in on!
A hidden gem! Such a great little place to get breads, pretzels, pastries, desserts, hot sandwiches, & German grocery items. There's also a section for pre-made and packaged soups and meals. I've never gotten anything here that wasn't delicious! I miss the little deli area to sit down and eat, but it gave them room to offer even more items for sale so that's a good trade off!
One word= incredible we've had 2 of these cakes & BOTH times we were blown away! Hands down worth the cost. We live 2.3 hrs away & will drive just to get this cake. Lol
Super friendly stuff. The bread is authentic and I love it. In addition I get the Sauerbraten and Bratwurst. Also fantastic and authentic. Small but fine selection in the shop. Overall a very good place if you want authentic German food.
I got an email coupon for 50% off a sandwich at Bernhard's. So, on the way to work, my dad stopped to get our lunch. I got a ham and cheese sandwich and he got the Philly Cheese. They were both superb! I will definitely go there for lunch again. I even got a German carbonated apple juice which was just ok to me because I'm not a fan of carbonated drinks, restocked on my Knorr German soup mixes and German Ritter Sport chocolates. I highly recommend everyone to try them out! They have a variety of German dry goods, breads, baked goods, pastries, sandwiches, candies, coffee, teas, meats, vaccum sealed foods in a fridge and some drinks in their little fridge. Good luck getting out without spending $50.
Everything is great! My husband is German and has found his heaven! We plan travel around stops to Bernhard's! Worth it every time! Call ahead and it will help be sure the baked fresh items are still there when you get there! Jalapeño Cheese Pretzel and the butter cheese are my favorite, but my husband loves the frozen homemade meal packs.
This place has a great selection of fresh baked breads & treats. There’s also some typical German/Swiss/European packet mixes/sauces and some home made foods in their freezer. But, for us, the LIFE changing item is their part baked kaiser rolls. Take them out of the freezer and allow them to defrost, cook some British sausage in the oven we’re British which we get from Myers of Keswick in NY, and when the sausage is close to done, add the rolls for 3-4 minutes. The rolls are the perfect size, a thin light crisp on the outside and super soft inside … PERFECT Oh, and if you want a change from ‘burgers’, get a 4 pack of their frozen frikadelle, which are a German version of a burger, a sort of flattened meat ball .. DELICIOUS
It was my first visit to the store. I have visited their booth at the Marietta Square farmers market on Saturdays. I love the pretzel corners and pretzel hot dogs. At their bakery of course there is much more to pick from, including European-styled pastries. All good.
