My husband passed away when he was 33 and I was 31 so needless to say I did not know where to begin when funeral planning. Bernheim Apter made everything seamless. Charles is wonderful and has helped me every step of the way. He explained each part of the funeral and walked me through what I needed to do. The day of the funeral I didn’t have to worry about anything. There was an error made by hospice on my husbands death certificate and Charles went above and beyond to get it fixed even though he didn’t have to. He made sure I had the new certificates as soon as possible and even offered to drop them at my house. I am also so grateful for the zoom feature so people far away who couldn’t come in could participate in the service and I was able to get a recording of the service. I felt completely supported from the second my husband passed to well after his funeral. Ina time where I felt the whole world was on my shoulders and I was anxious at all time it was a relief to not have to worry about any parts of the funeral or burial.
After 62 years of marriage my wife died and my daughter, son-in-law and myself met with your director Gerry who was extremely gracious and aided us in making the arrangements for her funeral. He explained and answered all our questions and when I confronted him with having poor sound at previous funerals there he assured me this would not occur. He was absolutely correct and everyone at the service had no trouble with the sound quality. The ability of live streaming the service allowed our many friends both in the USA and Europe to view the service or view it at a later time. The entire staff was as caring, understanding and helpful as possible . They made the process of saying goodbye compassionately and graciously. Those who attended the funeral and repast/Shiver felt comfortable. The catering company, Encore was excellent.
Both my mother’s, and my father’s funerals were managed by BAK. They provided excellent and sensitive service both in 2008 and then again in 2022. They anticipated my families needs in every aspect of the service. From the prearrangement, to the transportation, to explaining details, the service itself, and the burial at the cemetery. They were even helpful in expediting all the paperwork involved. During a time of mourning and much emotion, I was thankful to be working with them. Louis, and Taylor, and MIchael exhibited much professionalism and sensitivity and I highly recommend BAK.
The loss of my father was unbearable. It was made more awful by an unhelpful, unresponsive funeral home in Arizona, where my parents live AND where they had pre-paid for their funerals. Enter Keith Miller, a referral from a friend, who was able to take over every aspect of my father's funeral and burial in New Jersey. Unlike the original funeral home, Keith kept us constantly informed. No call or e-mail went unanswered, regardless of the time of day. Keith ensured my father was flown from Arizona, landing in the middle of the night, to be ready in time for a Sunday funeral in New Jersey. He handled every detail with both kindness and efficiency. When the time comes that we will need funeral services again, our first call will be to Keith, which gives us tremendous comfort.
My father just recently passed away and Louis at the funeral home was just so helpful in organizing everything for us. He truly took much of the stress away when it came to making arrangements. We had anticipated that side of the process to be much harder. They clearly have a very high standard of service. Louis and everyone else working there always responded to our calls, answered all our questions, and were extremely respectful.
Bernheim Apter recently handled my mother’s funeral. Gerry Bellizzi and the rest of the team were the consummate professionals and treated me and my family in the most caring and thoughtful manner in these most difficult of times. They literally took over and handled all the details without a hitch. I had interviewed another firm who enjoys a good reputation and they were not nearly as professional and considerate. I strongly recommend them for any family in need of funeral services.
The planning and and follow through on dads final plans were handled professionally and as anticipated. I thank all involved for making a difficult time as painless as possible. Bernheim-Apter Funeral home and all staff are super and would highly recommend their services.
