Service with the phones was slow. Had to ask for help. However in the computer section service was excellent. I was promptly greeted. My questions answered and order placed right away.
Ist time back after many years and it went well. Last time here was many years ago and things have changed all over, not just Best buy. Seems like customer service isn't what it used to be at many establishments. I mention this because I think people's expectations have gotten pretty low these days. I had some employees approach me and help me with my search. That is what should happen and I appreciate it. I'm giving a good review based on that, but really, it should be our minimum expectation. I've been to other Best buy stores and haven't been able to get help after going around looking for someone, much less having them come to me and help me. I know it's a round about way to pay them a compliment, but it was a good experience and they're doing things right.
I went to buy $80 controllers for the Nintendo Switch. The cashier just hands me the product and the receipt and starts to walk away. I asked if I could have a bag and he said real quick and snappy, “Bags are $0.11, Best Buy Policy.” First of all I didn’t like the way he said it and second of all that’s ridiculous to try to charge me $0.11 for a bag when I just bought an item for $80 and I just wanted a bag to protect it a little from rain. I I only had bigger bills on me and wasn’t about to make a credit card transaction for $0.11 for I just left. Thanks.
Purchased a pc case open-box, and had it shipped to me. Received it broken with the front panel smashed. When I went to the store to get a replacement they made me pay extra for a new one. What’s the point of buying it open-box at that point??
Never have issues here, staff seems to do good work and is helpful when you need it. Edit: spoke two weeks too soon. I scheduled an appointment to have a remote start put in two months ago. I saw a black Friday deal to have $50 off the price I paid but I kept my appointment just so I wouldn't have to schedule another appointment two months out again. They called three days before my appointment to tell me they have to cancel because the one person that can do the installs is no longer doing them. I asked them if they could reschedule it and was told no but I could come in to discuss it. Turns out the person was promoted and the store manager didn't think to fill the void this would cause for 15+ appointments. Luckily the clerk matched the black Friday price for me to reschedule the appointment, an hour away from this store for a later date. Really worth questioning this store manager's logic on not having a backfill.
I don't know if COVID brought down all Best Buys or if it's just this location but there weren't many employees so I had to wait a while for help. There weren't many product samples either and most of the product samples I was looking at were not even sold there anymore. I had the same thing happen when I visited a Best Buy in Silver Spring in 2021.
The first thing I was looking for was a reasonable price for a laptop, not one and not two, but three laptops! First, I told the guy who works at Best Buy that I wanted all three laptops upgraded to Windows 11 Professional because I wanted my wife and son to be very happy with them. Unfortunately, I didn't know that guy might not know that "pre-installed" windows 11 does not have Professional in the first place, so I had no idea what goes on. Unfortunately, again, what I wanted, but the problem with that what I wanted is not upgradeable, so that makes me very angry at whoever designed it to fool buyers, not the guy who sold me is not his fault, at least. Plus, so many people out there don't understand how this works. For example, I'm looking for a laptop that is very new and improved for the future and asked for upgradeable, but he said no because my money was limited, so same as another two laptops. Anyway, I felt stuck, so I had no choice but to ask for a trade that much better than what I had with minimal money to afford that laptop that fits my needs with a Professional finally! As for my wife and my son will be happy with what I got for Christmas. I'm very excited and pray they'll love their first time since I've got a used laptop for her. My son did not have his laptop, but he did use that laptop. The school gave kids a laptop due to stupid Covid-19 as temporary until school opened and returned the computer, and I thought, why not? Pray that he be pleased with what I got. We are going to be very happy that Christmas day! I will be craziness nuts if they're not satisfied with what I got. Then I have no idea what to expect, but all I can say is, please pray for my family and me!!!
Absolute garbage company. I bought a tablet for my daughter's birthday. Set it up ahead for her but when she opened it it was glitching terribly. Well they didn't want to do any kind of return or exchange because it's 15 days after purchase but if I was a gold member I'd have 60 days. Seriously?! I'm 16 days past the date because I thoughtfully bought a gift ahead of time and am getting the short end of the stick. Online customer service was unable to provide any help so I figured I'd try in store. The lady at customer service was super polite and did finally refund me after fussing with it for a few min. Really shocked at how bad of a return policy they have. Will never be shopping for a single thing there again.
My husband bought me a new computer for Christmas and the guys at Geek Squad were amazing! Kahn was the guy I dealt with from the beginning to the end of our transaction and they treated me like a queen. They had my old computer to transfer the data and they were extremely gentle and knowledgeable. While waiting, the other guys came up and talked to me, and asked if I found everything, they were just extremely friendly. I could not have asked for a better experience.
Associates are knowledgeable and friendly. His Best Buy is fully staffed. Store products may not be fully stocked but can have items shipped generally within a day or 2.
