Mattresses are extremely uncomfortable. Very hard and thin. Feels like a box spring with a piece of fabric over it. Bed frames were metal & very squeaky with the slightest move. We booked 2 nights but stayed one. Fortunately they were willing to cancel our 2nd night reservation. Everything was clean for the most part.Rooms: 4/5
I would seriously never stay here again even if it was free for the rest of my life. Cons 1. Rooms are gross and smell like cigarettes. 2. AC didn't work half of the time. Good luck sleeping. 3. Staff was poorly trained and very unhelpful. 4. I was charged on my private credit card even though the room was paid for by my company. I was told they only needed my card for "incidentals" and then was charged the full amount of the room on that card. It took me hours of my personal time to get it all fixed with zero help from this hotel. 5. The parking is a joke. There are two parking spots for the entire right side of hotel with no elevator so if you have heavy language you better be strong enough to haul it up the stairs on your own. 6. You get a "discount" at a few restaurant near the hotel but save your money and stay away from the stockyard restaurant that takes up most of the parking for the hotel. The steaks are trash. I'm pretty sure they were just potroast cut up to look like steak. Pros 1. I will never stay there again. That's the only positive thing I can think of.
For an older property, I’m very impressed with how clean and well kept it is. The landscaping is so well maintained as is the parking lot. The room was much larger than I expected and very well maintained with only a couple very minor flaws ceiling cracks/spots and bathroom door was difficult to close. But again, for an older property, this place is fantastic
I would NOT recommend this Best Western. The only good thing was the location. Traveled with young kids and pool was closed. I booked on Priceline and it did not show the pool closing info. Outside of that, the beds were horribly hard and uncomfortable. The floors were dirty - as in, the bottom of our feet were disgusting. The a/c took 3+ hours to cool down our room to 70 degrees, but the bathroom didn't have any air vents in it so the bathroom was hot, even with the fan on. The other downside was the breakfast area, as it was VERY small with 5 tables holding 20 people total. We had 6 in our family, and there was little room between tables/walkways and people stacked up to get to the food or waiting. Not a good experience all around. Location of it was great - right off the interstate, but I would choose to drive 10 miles out of the way instead of staying here again.
Not the nicest best western I’ve stayed in. It wasn’t bad though. My biggest beef was the outside doors. I never feel as safe when you can access the door without going past the front desk down a hallway etc… Biggest plus was you can turn the fan on and it stays on. Some rooms I’ve been at you can’t keep it on for white noise rook could use a little revamp and updates though
VERY DISAPPOINTED Our family has stayed at this location on many occasions. We enjoy the Sirloin stockade, and shopping in Rolla and it's close enough to home I could get there quick if needed. I can finally let go of this tradition. I've noticed it going down hill for a bit. When I made the reservation, there was no mention of a broken pool on the website. I called to make sure we had an accessible room, and was told then about the pool. I figured that that was fine, it was really hot and I'd be too tired to play in the pool anyway. On the day we were to arrive I called to see if I could get an early check in. They on occasion have allowed this if the room is ready. A maintenance man who was helping out because they were short staffed Answered the phone. He stated "no early check in" then He proceeded to argue with me about early check in. I said "ok, then I'll see you at 3" check in time he said "a little after 3" and we went back and forth. He really wanted the last word but I want giving in. We decided to go there, I noticed 2 others checking in at 1:30. The usual desk Clerk was there, He checked us in with no issues, and was the usual really nice fella that he always is. Off in the corner though, the maintenance man was being snarky. Regular clerk explains to me about the pool as I was checking in and I asked what the issue was and would it be fixed soon. Snarky maintenance guy pops up with are you kidding it broke a pipe it'd be $10,000 to dig it out another 20 or 30 to build a new one He went all the way up to $100,000 by time he was done with his tall tale. He kept telling me how the pandemic was the reason they couldn't afford to fix it, blah blah blah. We get to our room, there's a hole at the bottom of the door you can see daylight through. The beds are hard as a rock the toilet paper holder came out of the wall there was no tissues in the tissue holder, The electrical outlets were squishy or didn't work. We were in a section I had never stayed in and it was awful. Two things, He sucks as a maintenance man! Be nice to customers. Very disappointed I don't think these reviews ever get a response from the place reviewing, just stay somewhere else.
Lesson learned. The cheaper place is not worth it! The customer service from the minute I walked in to check in was by no means friendly. The housekeeping manager just came rolling in. There was no hi or anything just "your rooms not ready" which is confusing considering they couldnt find my reservation, so how would he even know?! That's fine rolled off the shoulders next we get into the room and it smells can't describe but it did not smell clean. Ok I thankfully brought lysol, we can deal. Then we have to be careful of leaving our room because another person staying had a very aggressive German Shepard she walked the sidewalk every so oftenand if we were in his sight he acted as if he was going to attack and the woman clearly would not be able to keep him back. Aggressive dogs should not be allowed then especially if you cannot control them! We stayed anyways its just one night. Then I noticed after getting out of the shower how dirty my feet were after stepping on the floor out of the shower. Absolutely disgusting but too late at this point to leave. Breakfast was awful unless you get cereal. The real kicker for me was the audacity to charge me extra for dirty sheets?! Seriously?! CLEAN YOUR FLOOR AND THEY WOULDNT BE DIRTY! I called to dispute the charges and was given a complete run around and there is nobody there to resolve. My kids and I visit Rolla often in the summer to stay the night and go to Fugitive Beach ,but we will never stay here again. Holiday Inn express may cost more but definitely better than dealing with this place again.
Upon entering we were greeted by a lady who seemed bothered by us coming in the door that was not a good start. The rest of the stay was great nice room, guy at desk in the morning was helpful and nice. Coffee and breakfast good, quiet room, location perfect. Great bar named taters next door.Rooms: 5/5
We had no issues with this establishment. Check-in was efficient, the clerk was very nice, room was clean, water was hot, ac was cold, wifi and tv worked well, and the breakfast was great. We read quite a few bad reviews about similar hotels in the area but this one seemed to fare a little better in most reviews and we weren’t wanting to spend a bunch for an overnight on our way across the country. This hotel turned out to be perfect. Remember - this is not a resort style hotel charging $300-400 a night so don’t expect it to be. Some things are a little dated, but our room, linens, and bathroom were all clean and comfortable. It was fairly easy to get to, just off the interstate. We did have to navigate a roundabout, which I hate, but that’s just me. There is also a steakhouse adjacent which we didn’t try, but would be very convenient for a dinner. Rooms: Ours was clean, good hot water, good wifi, cold ac, and good tv. Plenty of plugs and usb charging ports. Food & drinks: Great hot breakfast! Kids would like the pancake maker. We had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pan- fried potatoes, and there was an assortment of breads, pastries, yogurt, and cereal. Also 3 types of coffee, mild, regular, and strong, hot chocolate, and tea bags.
