This was the most affordable hotel in this area that we found and the room was nice and clean with a comfortable bed. No bugs or other creepy crawlies. The hotel itself has some wear and tear and it's nothing special on the inside. The doors aren't automatic so it's probably not that accessible and there's no parking in the hotel. There's also no office space or even tables. The breakfast that's included is just cereal bars, bananas, and yogurt. The location is fantastic right next to the park and museums. And there's a cute cafe connected to it with delicious pastries and coffee. Overall a decent 2-3 star hotel. Nearby activities: Right by the museum and aquarium! Walkability: Very close to grocery stores and train lines.
We were in Chicago for one day to attend an event. We wanted an inexpensive room for one night since we didn’t want to drive home late at night in the dark. The Best Western provided us with a clean, comfortable, quiet and safe room for our stay. The Best Western is a plain, basic not too special hotel. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a hotel room and need just a place to sleep, the Best Western has nice, simple rooms. For an extended stay in Chicago you might want to spend more money and get more amenities. The Best Western isn’t a bad place to stay, it just doesn’t have a lot to offer. Rooms: Clean, comfortable, quiet, nice city view Nearby activities: Concerts, Jazz Fest Safety: We felt very comfortable and safe at this hotel Walkability: Walk to parks, shopping and many restaurants Food & drinks: Many restaurants from fast food to fine dining are close by
The location is great and the view from our room on the ninth floor was excellent. It's within walking distance of all the major sights, including Navy Pierbarely. The housekeeping service was excellent. Everything else was just okay. The breakfast was nothing special and the valet parking was really expensive.Rooms: 3/5
Great hotel. Well maintained. Bathroom really good, good water pressure, comfortable beds, great AC, noisy streets but it’s downtown… really good! Recommend 100%. Greatest staff, always ready to help. Breakfast until 9am. I got a room for 5 family members. Rooms: I came with 5 people. I needed towels and pillows. They gave me that at not extra charge. Nearby activities: 30 minutes walking to Navy Piar, beam, trump tower. Safety: It’s safe walk around into to late Walkability: You can get into the beam on 20 minutes walking. Navy pear 30 minutes. Trump tower 30 minutes, pretty safe up to late Food & drinks: There are many restaurants around.
The price can’t be beat. The location is great and in a safe area. We had four women in our group and felt totally safe walking to and from bars late at night. The hotel is walking distance to Soldier Field, 20 to Millennium Park, and only 4 min to the Roosevelt CTA entrance. It’s semi attached to an amazing but pricey bakery who also provides pastries for the continental breakfast in the lobby. The room was nice and clean, and the bed was really comfortable but they only provided four insanely thin pillows for our king so we had to request extra the next night. Only two major downsides to our stay, first, only one elevator worked and it was SLOW and constantly full. We had to take the stairs floor 5 most times because we couldn’t fit in the elevator or it would take 10+ min. That particularly sucked with luggage when we checked out. The second issue, our AC unit wouldn’t stay on, it stayed on an auto setting which normally is fine but the unit is SO LOUD. You can’t hear the tv or your phone even at full volume, it’s that loud. As soon as we fell asleep it would turn on and wake us right back up. If it just stayed on running we’d be able to get used to it as white noise but it would turn off and on all night. If we visit again for another game at Soldier Field, we’d definitely stay here. If we were visiting for other reasons though, we’d probably consider elsewhere closer to the river. Walkability: 4 min to the CTA, 5-10 min to bars and restaurants, 20 min to Solider Field.
I wouldn't recommend this property. The hotel is old and I dire need of a remodel. The first thing we noticed about our room is that the door latch had been removed so the door couldn't be fully secured without the security latch. When I looked down the hall, it seems most had been removed. The room was not very clean. The bed did not seem freshly changed but I can't put my finger on why I felt that way. There was hair on the floor of the bathroom. When I went to take a shower, the only towels in the whole room were 3 bath towels. No washcloths or hand towels. The furniture in the room needs a good cleaning. The nooks and crannies are disgusting. Also on the day we were there, somehow one of the front windows was broken and all they would tell us was, "freak accident." I wouldn't stay here again. The rooms are way overpriced for what they are offering. Scratch Best Western of my trusted hotel list.
I would NOT stay here again. Hotel was affordable with great access to museums, but that's where the positives end. Room was not clean. Just to name a few examples: towels had stains on them, the bathroom door wouldn't shut, and the bath tub wouldn't drain after a shower. I would be getting a shower in shin deep water. When I told the front desk about this problem on check-out, there was no apology. I will not be coming back.
Every time I go to Chicago I stay at this hotel, I’ve stayed 7 times so far and each time the service is outstanding. They take good care of their guests and the rooms are always clean, safe, quiet, and with a great view. It’s walking distance to major attractions and the bus + subway line is under 5 mins away. Joseph, who works front desk, is always friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. It’s a joy to talk with him and he takes care of everything for you with no hassle checking in or out. Even after check out all the staff are still willing to help you and provide services. Walkability: Museum campus is a 12 minute walk and the park across the street is so beautiful to walk through. The subway station is 4 minutes away and the red line can get you anywhere.
Make sure to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This web site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :! This resort is the best rated in this area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely will love it I'm sure! We stayed at Best Western Grant Park for two nights. The front desk service was excellent and the staff seem genuinely willing to help. The location is great and rooms are comfortable and updated. Definitely would recommend this hotel, especially for those folks visiting and participating in typical tourist activities in Chicago
Room needs to be updated as everything in the room was outdated. No where to charge phone as there were no USB ports in the room. The bathroom was very old. Entire shower needs to be updated as there was no way to take a shower without lying multiple towels on the floor to keep from wetting up the floor. Front desk the woman clerks seems to be a little lazy with little information to give. Please be advise, you will have to request that your room be clean other wise it will remain as left. Parking is horrible as we had to park in multiple garages during out time there. At least $30 dollars a day depending on which parking garage you make it to in time before full.
