This place is amazing. What an incredible piece of history that is preserved beautifully! One can't help but think of all of the events/memories/stories that have been made at this place. The staff was super friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. They also seem to take great pride in the hotel, which is exactly the kind of people a beautiful place like this deserves. We would definitely stay here again!
Grand historic hotel. Very extravagant place to enjoy a nice glass of wine and chat with some old friends. The features of this place are amazing and every little detail in it replicates what it would look like in the past. Very nice staff and helped me with everything I needed and made sure I was satisfied. Definitely will stay here in the near future. Rooms: Had everything I needed plus more. Comfy bed and cool ac. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Nearby activities: Wolf creek beside hotel had very amazing wine for a cheap price. The maze has some very nice home decor and more. Cute downtown places. Safety: The downtown area has many cameras and local police to make sure this area is safe for everyone. Felt very safe and secure here. Walkability: Downtown area has sidewalks and great scenery. Food & drinks: Floyd’s pub and Rosemary and Thyme had great food and drinks. My trip was definitely worth it. Noteworthy details: All the staff were friendly and very helpful.
I would love to rate this place higher because it really is a beautiful place. Sadly they do not display on the website or tell you that they do not do the tours anymore. Which was the entire point my friend and I drove 3 hours to stay here. They said we could walk around but everything was closed off or locked. There was literally nothing to see besides the lobby, even the balcony was locked. The worst part was that the rooms were insanely hot and miserable. We had our room on 57° the entire time and it would not go lower then 78-79°. They even moved us but it was the same.
We ate dinner at Rosemary's. The dining room was beautiful and the wait staff was very polite. This is not our first meal at Rosemary's and we were very disappointed, in the past our meals were perfect and delicious. My husband's steak was perfect, very tasty and cooked exactly as ordered. My crab ravioli on the other hand was served with a bitter red marinara sauce instead of the cream sauce shown on the menu. The red sauce ruined the ravioli, the crab flavor was overpowered by the sauce. When eating at an establishment such as Rosemary's and paying the cost of the meal you expect to get what you ordered not something that you have to scrape the sauce off to be able to eat the meal.
This is a great and quaint old hotel!!! It is worth staying in and definitely is very romantic!!! Loved staying here and want to get back as soon as possible!!! This is a must stay if you are in the area!!! I love keeping old historical places like this alive!!! Check it out for sure!!!Rooms: 5/5
This place is gorgeous! I was hoping to see or hear a ghost. But, instead, I slept like a baby! If the haunting here is getting a great night's sleep, then I am down for a good haunting every day! You MUST check out this amazing, historic hotel! Rooms: Clean, comfortable, and not a single ghost in room 335!
