BETAMAX is a brand new arts building located in the rapidly evolving Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood. BETAMAX serves the local arts community by hosting gallery space and events, private and communal studio spaces, and a fully equipped ceramic facility with classroom programming and member access.

BETAMAX ARTIST STUDIOS is a 10,000 square foot facility that provides long- and short-term studio spaces to artists who want to participate in a dynamic, active arts environment. We provide not only the space to work, but facilitate the community of artists that support and inspire each other. Our aim is to provide a welcoming space for artists to study, learn and grow.

Our focus is to create an environment that plays an encouraging role in the the greater arts community. The studio is located in the heart of Hastings Sunrise and easily accessible by bus. Not to mention walking distance from many of Vancouver’s top rated bars and restaurants. If you're the type of artist that wants to take advantage of Vancouver's fastest growing artistic community this is the location for you.
BETAMAX communal artist studios are locked off and secure from the general public areas but not locked entirely off from other artists. This provides opportunities for the sharing of ideas, a sense of community and the opportunity to work together cooperatively.
Working studio spaces are priced depending on the light & location and range between $250-$1000 a month. Rental amount includes heat, hydro, internet, as well as the staffing which supports the facility (but does not include GST/PST).
Artists have 24/7 access to their studios.
We are looking for individuals who are seeking community, Studio space is not available on a first come first serve basis but on diversity of art & craft, and on fit onto the community.
Each studio also has access to amenities for paint washout, secure 24/7 access, coffee bar, and more!
