DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! I cannot stress enough the horrible customer service we have received... and now no one is calling us back. We arrived on Saturday around 6pm. Within 30 seconds of walking into the house, we could tell it was not cleaned. There was hair balls, dust bunnies, food and a pet throw up or pet poop on the rugs. The toilets have hair on them. There is dead bugs on window sills and dust bunnies. The toilets have not been properly cleaned. There is poop still in one of the toilets. A shower has a dead bug on the wall. The washing machine is dirty. There are crumbs on the tables. In fact, you can tell tables were not cleaned as chairs were not pushed in and you can see cup rings on the top of the tables. There is pet hair on the couches. The fridge still had food in it. Trash cans were not emptied. Normally when you clean a table and floors, you push the chairs in. Every chair was pushed out like someone had just sat there. The list goes on and on. I called the company to have a cleaning service come back out. They did but still DID NOT clean. The floors were not vacuumed. You could still see hair balls, the pet throw up or poop, the food on the floor. I called back and received the non-emergency line since it was after hours. We decided to go to the store and get our own cleaning supplies. It was 10pm at night. What were we going to do. Five adults cleaned for over 2.5 hours. When we went to go to bed, one of the beds had sand in it- which we paid for linen service. Here we are- the next day and I've only talked to Em King's assistant. After multiple voice mail messages, she has NOT called back. We still haven't received new linens. It is NOT our fault if the linen company is closed on Sunday. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. It an awful, awful experience. I've posted some photos. Many more if needed!
Long & Foster made it easy to find a suitable rental for my family, and the agent was available for any questions or issues before and during the trip. We found a lovely beach-front retreat in Fenwick Island and it was everything we hoped it would be! The check in process is a little tedious but most everything can be done online.
My family and I had a wonderful vacation in Selbyville, DE this Summer. Long and Foster did a great job with handling my reservations and making sure all went well. The home was beautiful, clean and well stocked with amenities. When calling the office for any reason the staff was always responsive and ready and willing to help.
Recently stayed at a Long and Foster house rental and was very unhappy. On the surface the house appeared clean but upon further investigation it was in poor shape. The comforters on the beds were all stained. We had to wash them all each before using not a great way to start your vacation. We rented linens for the week and they were just as bed. Many towels had brown and yellow stains on them. Disgusting.There was multiple lights in the house with no working light bulb including the outdoor light, so we came back to a dark house each night. We purposely rented a house with a grill so we wouldn’t have to eat out every night with little kids. Except the grill had no gas! We searched for a back up tank and after not finding anything we called Long and Foster to mention it and they stated that it was part of the contract that we had to provide our own gas for the grill. That hopefully the people who stayed prior left it filled. This is the most ridiculous practice I have ever heard of. We have rented many homes over the years in many places and have never heard of such a a thing. We are on vacation and paid a lot of money to rent this house, we shouldn’t have to go out and not only use our vacation time to fill a gas tank but pay for it ourselves when we most likely won’t use the entire. Would not recommend renting from them and will definitely warn all friends and family from renting from them in the future. Look elsewhere!
First, I am not one to write bad reviews. I believe more in positive reviews when people/businesses go above and beyond. However, what we experienced was so egregious, I felt that I needed to make sure others are aware. I am 7 months pregnant and have two small children, my family and I look forward to our weekly vacation to the Delaware/Ocean City beaches every year. This year we rented from Long and Foster and had the worst experience I have ever had with any rental agency. I have probably rented from over 20+ agencies we travel a lot. When we arrived at the rental property, it was clear that it had not been cleaned thoroughly I question whether it was truly cleaned at all. When we contacted Long and Foster they originally did not want to do anything about it but after some convincing they advised they would send the cleaning company back to look at the property. My mother had already started cleaning with what limited supplies we had because she did not want myself and my children to be in the house in the condition it was in. When the cleaning company arrived, we tried to point out the dirt that still existed in the bathrooms and they refused to see it and do anything about it. They would not re-clean anything. So my family went out and bought cleaning supplies around $50 worth to clean the entire 3 floor property. Myself and 3 other adults spent hours and most of our Saturday night cleaning the property. The main issues were dirt, hair, sand and other debris on all floors, including a vast amount in the bathrooms pics below. As well as a blood stained pillow and multiple unidentified stains on the furniture. While we were cleaning, my mother tried to contact L&F and explain that the cleaning company left and advise that we would like to talk to them about reimbursing a cleaning fee as we are doing it ourselves. L&F never picked up her call again and never called us to check and see how things were while we were there. Around 1 week after our trip, my mother was contacted by L&F and was verbally harassed on the phone by Mary Germann. Mary advised that we were the ones in the wrong and it was ridiculous and they would not work with us on any price adjustments or help to compensate for anything we went through. Mary said she did not care if we thought the service was poor and if they had bad reviews because of it, so Mary this one is for you. I am a young professional and work with many individuals and customers everyday and I could never imagine treating a customer the way you treated us. The utter lack of concern for the health and safety of a pregnant woman, small children and others is completely unacceptable.
First time using Long and Foster for this Bethany Beach, 303 C Azaela Court house. Location is perfect proximity to the beach and boardwalk. Unfortunately, our first impression of this place was walking into a filthy and unacceptable house rental. With getting in at 5:30pm on a Saturday checkin was from 3pm to 630pm we were told to allow ample time for "cleaning", you would think that was plenty of time to clean this house. It hadn’t been cleaned in months. Stuff all over toilets and I think they really just went in to put a paper wrapper on the seat to make it appear that they were cleaned. Bathmats in all bathrooms had stool on them, urine all over toilet base, walls and floors. There was also food on floors, kitchen disposal was broken and smelly, bathroom sink and shower drains weren’t draining properly. I could go on and on. The house is listed as having AC BUT be warned. It is two levels and the entire 2nd level DOES not get any air through the broken vents that are up there. There is a sign on the first floor saying not to turn ac to a certain level or it will break. Most of the bedrooms are UPSTAIRS so it was SO hot to sleep up there. Felt like a sauna even with the fans they had. We are still waiting back from our initial reports on these issues from 7/16. We reported this from day one and have been ignored as they told us they need to get in contact with home owner. Quite disappointed in the lack of response/reply time. I will NEVER recommend them or this house if it doesn't get a DEEP clean and several items in there get fixed. Also, the washer/dryer is in the garage which is a nice plus to have BUT the machines are DISGUSTING and we didn't want to wash out clothes in them as there was RUST all on the top of the dryer and just so much filth in there -not a place for the laundry machines.
We have rented a condo at Sea Colony through Long and Foster for 3 years. The service was great and when we had issues this summer, they were quick to contact us about resolving some cleaning issues. The check in and check out process is easy and efficient. The cleaning issues we had were with the condition of the condo and did not reflect on our experience with Long and Foster.
Our first experience booking with Long & Foster for our beach trip was top notch. The condo we stayed in at Bethany Bay was absolutely beautiful and the cleaning crew had the place spotless for us. We will definitely book again with L&F and are already looking forward to our stay here next year! We didn't want to leave this beautiful community this morning. Thank you!
