Terrible experience! On our way to Ohio. We stopped here for the night. Called and booked with the lady who complained the whole time about her job. Said it was the worst job she ever had. We booked the last spot according to her. It was number three. We arrived after dark around 10:30. When I say these spots are tight, I mean they are tight! We have a 40 ft with three slides. Good thing my husband is very good with the trailer. Once we were parked there was no place to hook up water or sewer. We looked for over an hour. The only spots were on the opposite side of our sewer tank so that's impossible because it's not going to drain. And the water was right next to the sewer. The person who was hooked up to it had a splitter on it. And there were already two hoses hooked up. So no water for spot number three either. Of course we're exhausted. We only have electricity. I walk up to the office and there is no emergency number to call. I called the number I made the reservation with and there was no answer. Just voicemail. By the time I get back to lot 3, the electricity is throwing out in error code. We have a surge protector and it's basically saying that it is not grounded and not safe to be connected to. So three strikes and we were out of this place. I left a message about the incident as they charge $65 with fees for this experience. No one called me back. I called them back two days later. Spoke to a lady who told me she couldn't help me. Then she put me on the phone with her boss. I explained the situation to him. Calmly. I told him I had video documentation of all of the issues. He told me he would speak to his wife. Apparently his wife is the boss and makes the decisions on the refunds. He said he would call me before the end of the day. I'm writing this review because he never called me back. Nor did they refund my $65. This place is quite run down. You can see there are a lot of full timers who just don't care. It is very dark. And there are no amenities. All of that is okay if you charge $30 a night for someone passing through. But for $65 and there's no sewer or water? That's absolutely unacceptable!
I love the location of this campground right on the plateau at the top. There's a shell gas station right Next door for supplies, and you're only 20 minutes from Nashville or 20 minutes from the Kentucky Downs casino in Kentucky.
We stopped at The Owl’s Roost Campground at the end of July in 2022. First, let me say that I 100% agree with the reviews which describe the service from the owner as “above and beyond”. One of the owners is also the park manager. She was extremely friendly and provided excellent customer service. If you are looking for a park that has a pool, miniature golf, or a hot tub for twice the price, keep looking. ***If you are looking for a park that provides a quiet, friendly atmosphere and has exceptionally clean restrooms and customer service for a reasonable price, this is where you want to stop. ***The owner and the people at the park make you feel like family. We plan to stop every time we come this way. Another perk is that park is extremely close to I-65.
No wifi, no place to walk my dogs, and the store that they advertise is never open and they never answer the phone so we can get propane. They also have a whole list of ridiculous rules. Out of all the campgrounds we’ve stayed at I have to say this one falls short compared to the others.
Cathy and Sherrie are two old coots who love to nit pick and hassle for some reason about a lot of things. I had lived there for 2 months with a little dog and my girl would come by every now and then. They will immediately tell you that pets are not allowed just so everyone knows. If you have pets, just don't go here! I felt like I was constantly being watched over and I was. I'm a grown 30 year old man running a work from home business so I didn't need any of that. I was "evicted" with a 6 hour notice which is documented and videoed. Now, as it's always been, TN state law requires a 7 day minimum. This is now a live class action case pending on this property. The agreement in plain text says "7 days". Maybe they can't read? Not sure. Steer clear and go somewhere else. Trust me, it's not worth the hassle!
Kathy is misleading. Can't manage a park. Was on a waiting list. Tells me she has a opening. I come over several days early stayed at a federal park. She told me to meet her. Waited 4 hour's no show. Then I was able to talk to her said come back the next day. Waited 3 hours she finally shows. Gave me the paperwork to fill out. Then she continues to give excuses. Told me call back 3 days later. I called numerous times. Then she finally answered. Told me she to busy. Said she would call me back. She did. Then gave more excuses. When I was able to meet up in person. She was shaking bad. Don't know if she was high drunk. Or and idiot. I proceeded to talk to her. I told her you said you have an opening. Then she went straight up nuts told me to f off. Read the reviews people. This lady has issues and is a liar to bat. Millersville needs to shut her down. That lady has some very serious issues.the website is a lie. And will lie straight to you either in person or on the phone. You cant get her to commit to meet. And she shakes really bad. Millersville needs to shut her down. And I very seldom give negative reviews. Poor manager. Bad communication. She either has a drug problem or a mental issue. When I finally asked her why she told me f you. I was not rude. But reviews speak for themselves. If owls roost respond to this review. It will be nothing but a lie. I since found out. Communication with others in the area. When owls roost done me wrong. I'm not the only one she did this to.
Been here a year, its nice! They have a little storefront, propane for cheapest anywhere, washer and dryers on site, shower and bathroom for guests to the grounds. The office attendant is very kind and helpful of any concerns you may have. No drug bust or anything ive witnessed in a year. Ive never been bothered by anyone on the campground. Everyone seems to be nice and easy going, Id recommend a short or long term stay here.
This used to be a good place to stay while you traveled around the area and saw the sights. We stayed here while we were visiting relatives nearby. The manager and maintenance man were kind and would work with us. But it has new management and maintenance. These people are very rude and they are changing all the rules. They are not allowing the things that were allowed before, and they are very hateful about it. There's nothing to do there. Their only amenities are a little laundromat and a bath house. And they are both locked in the evening and kept locked until late morning when the store opens, if the woman decides she wants to be open that day. The hours posted on the door for the store are very much suggestions, not truth. The lots are small and covered by sharp stones and whatever little bit of grass /weeds there is has to be taken care of by the renters. We had a lot that was the runoff for the hill behind it. If we had the least bit of rain, The water ran under our trailer like someone had opened up a dam. The lot was never dry and it was very slick wherever they hadn't put the stone. Speaking of water, the water connections are all about a foot below the ground, and you have to get on your knees and reach down into a hole to connect your hose. The connectors are dollar general "Y"s which are old and nearly impossible to thread onto your hose. In the winter the hole is filled with icy water, and the pipes froze and burst about once a week. Then there was a flood of water everywhere. The water pressure is almost nonexistent even in the bath house. And the water stinks and made our dogs sick. We never drank it, we always bought our drinking water. No I would never recommend this place to anyone.
I have been here since Feb. 2021. Its quiet and clean. Bath houses are always clean. Store is convenient. Ms.Kathy is very helpful and keeps things in check. Great community rv park.
Owner is very friendly and easy to speak with goes above and beyond to help his customers! We love it here we was beginning to think tennessee didn't have "the country or country folk" but they do definitely good ol boys and southern hospitality runs deep here
