My family's favorite local spot. Breakfast or lunch usually. Not a huge menu, but it's not a huge restaurant. If you want a great home cooking flavor and friendly atmosphere, Mrs. Liz will fix you up. For the one that gave a negative review and said "somewhat conservative atmosphere, but this is Virginia," who the heck judges a restaurant on their so-called political atmosphere you big dummy. If you're looking for politics, go to a bookstore or a coffee shop. If you're looking for a great down home style meal, go to "the Bev."
Food is always prepared as requested. Service is good and friendly!
Stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. One waitress for every table in the place - about eight occupied at the time. Just an unfair ratio. We seated ourselves on the advice of other guests, waited about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us, and eventually just got up and left. The decor is so dated, it's almost faded away. Not really antique-y or country-y, just old looking.
