This range is family owned! They keep everything well maintained and working at all times. Rifle and Pistol ranges have plenty of space on the line and most shooters here are great folks and look out for each other. The family have been life long supporters of Texas 4-H Shooting Sports, having sponsored the program since 1975. The 4-H Shooting Sports club is the 2nd oldest in the state.
This is the pistol range, get there early and nobody's there. Every time we go the other shooters are cool. No weird people.
Great range, friendly folks, good prices on shells, wads, and shot too
Went there a while back, been meaning to leave a review. Couple things that stood out from other ranges, the lay out is superb. Both with the rifle and pistol ranges. The targets are lined up with the bays so you don't have to worry about cross fire, or that "was that me hitting the target or someone else" thought that I had with another range. The place is well kept, the dog is friendly too. There's an indoor and outdoor restroom. The only improvement I could see would be a larger pistol range, though really that's a small issue considering you can just visit the rifle range and swing back over to the pistol after. Being able to back up to the bays is great, you can pop your trunk and don't need to lug everything you want to shoot. If you're like me, range day is a bring it all and enjoy the day thing. So definitely a plus. They do use paper targets so you can practice grouping, zeroing or just have fun. The folks that were shooting were decent folk, if someone needed to get a target, a cease fire was called and everyone put their guns down. Prices are good too, a couple bucks more then another outdoor range, but for the layout, I do not mind.
Awesome place to go shoot some Ammo! All kinds ! And very inexpensive! Can't wait to go back again
I have been there a few times and really really enjoy the range, especially since its outside. Staff is always friendly and the other shooter’s are super friendly and respectful. Ive Never had an issue until today. The bald gentleman that works there was very very disrespectful and seemed very agitated. we a group of 5 explained we were there to use the pistole range, the only range I've always used in the past, But when the young lady behind the counter gave us targets that were different from the green torso targets they have always given us in the past, we were a little confused. Politely and out of curiosity we just asked why we weren’t getting the green torso targets we usually get, the lady told us “these are what we always use”. The bald gentleman also said from behind us “ this is what we always use, you just didn’t get caught for using the other ones” in a very loud and agitated tone. After he said that we said “ okay I’m just you telling thats Whats we’ve always been given in the past”. The bald gentleman then accosted us and said “ i don't care this is how we are doing it from now on”. #1 this gentleman has given me those green torso targets himself in the past, #2 he said he said “we didn't get caught” as if we took them before without them knowing. We had already paid so we used the range anyway, but i nor will any of the people i was with will return to that range.
I like it. You check in and pay at the main shooting supply store. Then you can drive right up to the ranges...huge plus. Pistol and rifle ranges are two different places. Targets are already out there for the 100/200 yard rifle ranges and use the standard diamond sight in targets. You can bring your own for the 50 yard range. For handgun, they give you a large cardboard target and you place those in a frame on the handgun range. No RSO but the people I met the day I went were great. You can call a cease fire and go look at or collect your target. Rifle range is mostly covered with a couple of benches that aren't. The benches are the best I've seen so far, they are solid concrete with nice seating. The shotgun set up looks amazing. You pay per round and it comes with clays. I think they said 25 clays per round. The shooting supply store had an amazing selection of powders and other reloading supplies.
Great place ! Friendly knowledgeable staff. Shot my shotgun at the pistol range and then at some fly pigeons. Had a blast . Affordable and you an Drive right up to the range area so no lugging around your guns from range to range . Definitely going back and would recommend to anyone that’s looking to have a good time and shoot their guns.
These are the best of people. Pistol Targets can be set up at any distance up to 25 yards. Roof covered shooting line and parking is immediately behind your shooting position, so gear doesn't have to be carried far. Great practice range. The store carries a wide supply from loaded ammo to reloading supplies along with knives to pistols.
We liked the visit.. laid back country style range and not as crowded as others I've Ben to over that last 25 yrs. Range is for standing stance for pistol. Yet gone for rifle or skeet. They do have should shotgun reloading supplies if you re into reloading shotshells.
