Beautiful plantation style mansion right next to California State University Chico! Three guided tours a day, $6.00 per person! Due to a other commitment that we did not have the opportunity to visit, but hopefully there will be other opportunities to visit again!
Beautiful, but you gotta go see the mansion yourself!! There's a whole Beautifully written history that may surprise you. The photos are of the creek nearby. Definitely worth checking out as well.
Beautiful park and lovely mansion tour. Very educational and affordable. More suited for children 12 and up. It’s quite a long tour. Be prepared to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs.
Great educational tour! It lasts about an hour and walks you through the mansion. It's best to call ahead and reserve your spots. My seven year old barely hung in there, as the tour isn't the most riveting experience, and there aren't many opportunities to sit to be prepared to be on your feet. The adults loved learning about Chico and bidwells' rich history.
A classic 19th century mansion built by a local robber baron. This pleasant town stretched for this to be its premier tourist site. A big yawn.
Beautiful mansion and park! I'm sure touring the house with a guide must be very interesting, it was closed at the time of our visit on a Sunday afternoon. We very much enjoyed wandering around the grounds.
Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park While passing through Chico we decided to make a stop at the Bidwell State Historic Park. It was easy to find the park with plenty of parking but do to covid it was closed so we walked around the home and grounds. It’s a very pretty Victorian House and grounds.
Very nice tour. the guide was very knowledgeable and Interesting. Spent years by this place and finally took the time to check out the inside. Worth the small fee and the state park visitor center is free and has a nice exhibit on bidwell as well.
1st time there and it was pretty cool to see the history of Chico, CA. I had a good time with the family and learned some interesting facts. The staff were friendly and insightful.
Such a cool historic house! Tour guide was knowledgable and very friendly! My favorite part had to be the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. They all have tiny sinks! Beautiful & educational way to spend a saturday in Chico!
