Big Bear Sheriffs really came through! Unfortunate recent break up led to my ex-girlfriend locking me out and keeping prized possessions. I called dispatch Saturday morning 6/15 and a unit arrived in under 10 minutes. The lady Sheriff that came to my rescue was amazing! She spent about 15 minutes calming and reasoning with my ex...I'd given up but the Sheriff convinced my ex to let us in and I got my things back! This Sheriff really wanted to help: she displayed compassion for our situation, expertise in negotiation, and knew the facts of law. I've never seen anything quite like it, no kidding...Thank you again Big Bear Sheriff Department!
I just called as it appeared someone was breaking into my vacation home in Moonridge. They sheriff responded very quickly and was able to stop and question the guy. It turns out that he was a brand new worker for the local vacation rental company. But the efficiency at which the Sheriff responded was amazing! He even called me to let me know. I would give the Big Bear Sherriff dept.10 stars if I could! Thank you to all of you there! Jim
Came to our cabin for the weekend and both carbon monoxide alarms were sounding. Called this number and they dispatched the fire department to investigate. Ended up being a false alarm, but I have the peace of mind knowing the family is safe. Thank you for your fast and friendly response. Much appreciated.
Deputy Sheriff Tim Bolin arrived within the hour of calling to report firewood theft and a bb in a window. He was very professional, but yet very congenial. We chatted like family.
This department is TOP NOTCH. I have been so impressed with every interaction I have had with every member of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Department when I have had to depend on them to help me through some conflicts that happened in Big Bear. God bless them. These are what policemen should be like.
Call placed approx 3pm Sunday July 1, spoke with dispatch Danielle. Explained that I was clearing a lot in Big Bear and found syringes and wanted to know where a disposal site was in the area. Seemed like a pretty straight forward question that could have an immediate answer. Instead I was asked if I were the user of the needles and if they were used for illegal drugs. Really, does it really matter what they are used for? They don't belong to me and I stated I just wanted to be responsible and dispose of the syringes. As a side story, I stopped into CVS and asked about syringe disposal - the reply was that I could purchase a sharps container and pay to mail it to dispose of. I was then asked what is the address of the lot I was clearing - PERCEPTION - I was to feel like I was a criminal! The lack of phone skill was extremely apparent and the icing on the cake was that "I can't help you if you don't give me all the information I am requesting" Pretty sad state of affairs since: 1 it is illegal to dispose of syringes in common trash 2: the sheriff dept/PD is to help the community, not accuse the caller. Think of this - and I am a knowledgeable retired healthcare worker - safe baby surrender. A caller asks for surrender sites and is asked a thousand questions - Instead of being provided helpful information the caller probably feels persecuted. What would you do then? In certain areas - there is absolutely no need to ask the questions Danielle did - she only needed to provide information to the request - AND CERTAINLY did not need to make judgemental statements to me the caller. Sheriff dept please train your staff- this is a community and respect for all callers should be first and foremost. This did not seem the case at all. And by the way, I still have the syringes and still need to dispose of them. What would you do? I believe a public posting would be helpful.
Big Bear sheriff came thru for me and my girl. Came back off-roading and the gate was closed. They came and cut the lock awesome people
I must say thank you and I got your backs 100%. I drive that Mercedes SUV and Silber Saturn with "Police Lives Matter" and a thin blue line. My older brother had put a restraining order on me because I have let the world know that he was out of jail he's a sexual predator for children. Redlands Police Department found thousands of child porn videos and videos of his stepdaughter underage showering naked obviously showering naked So once I let the public know that this horrible human being is out of jail all of a sudden I have a restraining order on me. Why does concerns me is because now I am silenced again by my family and that could allow for more abuse to happen and I say this because when I was four years old my mother allowed me to be sexually abused for a year. She didn't sit there and let it happen but she never did anything about it and while I was living with her and my older brother's daughter she was supposed to be supervised when he comes to visit but he is so narcissistic he had a bedroom there and Officer swims from the Redlands Police Department rounded him up for parole violation and he went back to jail for a year. So because I didn't want to infringe on the restraining order but I still wanted to protect my niece who is also mentioned in the restraining order so I can't contact her or anything. Absolutely horrifying this is the first time in my 36 years on this planet I've had any legal issues and it's a child pedophile who put a restraining order on me and I believe it's to conceal more abuse Please be an advocate for the children you guys please and I'm here to support you guys all day long as I do You police officers are the toughest most courageous people I know I could never do what you do you are so selfless and care so much about other people that you're willing to give up your own family and take one for the team on the job I envy you guys that quality that I just stated above is second to none. Most people are so darn selfish that they only care what happens to them and I appreciate you guys for what you do every single day and I appreciate your families for allowing you to do this every single day and I pray for you and your families every single day God bless you god bless the police department God bless big bear lake and God bless the United States of America "Police Lives Matter"
