Big Boy

Always yummy! Only 4 people working the restaurant but they were working hard and busy with smiles. They all deserve a raise and pat on the back! Great job all! Slim Jim's were terrific Food: 5/5

I used to love Big Boy. I worked as a waitress many years ago and ours was manager run very well. Food was cooked and served to please the customers. Now, I have gone to 2 Big boy locations in Gaylord and Kalkaska and I am in awe of the food that comes out. The chicken was so terrible looking and I wish I took a photo. 3 of 4 meals was tinged black. The manager was apparently the cook also and said the chicken looked perfect. She couldn't take criticism of her own cooking. The tomato slices were horrible looking. Pale and spongy. That should never be sent out to the customer. Ever! It's sad to see how the care has gone out of preparing good food these days. These places have very poor management.

I always go for the breakfast buffet. I love the biscuit and gravy.! Eggs are kinda dry usually and never refill them very often. Not alot to the buffet but I think it's worth it.

Great breakfast buffet! Good food, not great service, good value. It was a very busy Saturday noon and there was a wait. Some regulars got seated before the small crowd forming in the front pay area. No excuse for that. Once seated, the waitress was ok. Took a long time for our drinks, almost finished our first buffet plate before the drinks came. The breakfast buffet was very good. Plenty of options and it was kept well stocked with fresh food. We all ate our fill and left happy. 8-20-22

Our party of six stopped in here on Easter Sunday as it was one of the few places open. All of the staff members we interacted with were great and did an excellent job. Several people in our group had never been to a Big Boy before and were really surprised at the wide variety of options on the menu. Everyone found something to their liking and all of the food was great. In the current times, with the overall experience of eating out being less than great, it was nice to enjoy a meal in a restaurant again!

I want to say that food was good The price was also good. The place needs to be cleaned better. The window sills are always dirty same with windows I always see dead bugs on the window sills. The bathroom stunk like sewer. Unrelated but the decorations they have in windows are cheep and unattractive. I hope you clean the place up because we live here in Kalkaska and enjoy your food. Thank you

Hubbies hot chicken was great. I had the chicken strips but they were extremely over cooked and that made them hard to bite into.Food: 2/5

Pretty good. Service was great. Food was ok; under seasoned. Reasonably priced. Not sure if the hash browns are normally undercooked but will order then browned or crispy next time.

Food was good, waitress did great even with being the only server staffed. Bus boy needs to lose his job. He was going around staring at customers making faces and loud stupid noises at them, including us. Not sure why an establishment would employ someone with such issues, ruins the entire atmosphere and mood.Food: 5/5
