20230913 Big Boy . Love their patty melt. The lady at the drove thru was very friendly. Helped passed the waiting for my food to cook time. She also gave my girls some puppy biscuits. Food: 5/5
We had a Big Boy in our hometown when I was young, but it has been 30 years since I’ve seen one. The nostalgia was great as the food hasn’t changed. My daughter and I had a great lunch and wonderful time as I told her about memories flooding my mind of childhood lunches with family. The hot fudge cake still needs 2 people to share and didn’t disappoint.
We came to stay for the weekend at the hotel next door and had an excellent experience! The staff were friendly, the food was great, everything was quick and clean! We loved it so much we came back again before we went home! I highly recommend the new chicken tenders, they're cornflake breaded and super crispy, but the chicken stays so juicy! It's best as a sandwich with the coleslaw and fries!
I eat here fairly regularly. It's popular and therefore often busy. But I rarely have to wait long to get a table. I get the bar and it's always been good. It can be noisy on busy days, Sunday's after Church services let out are a prime example but that's because it's a good place to eatFood: 5/5
Only reason this is getting 3 stars is because I thought there were zero Big Boys left standing and Big Boy is part of my childhood nostalgia. I ate at the location in Elgin IL in the early 80s as a small child and ended up working my first waitress job in the same place different business and there was a big boy sticker left stuck up in the dishwasher area. The waitress at the location I'm reviewing was terrible which made my experience with the food terrible. She really didn't care about her tables. I would have preferred no table service since she didn't do much to deserve a tip. Yes, I tipped anyway. The food is way over priced as well. I think the waitress charged me full price to substitute onion rings for fries.
We usually go here for breakfast and it’s always fantastic but the other night we went to try it for dinner for the first time and we will never go back during those hours the hostess sat us and then we were completely ignored nobody came to take our drink order to check on us absolutely no effort was made! All of the wait staff even saw us sitting there because I made direct eye contact with everyone and even waved some of them down to get their attention! They served everyone around us but not us after about thirty minutes of waiting we got up and left and spent our money elsewhere for dinner that night! I hate to give this negative review because the breakfast crew is great but the dinner crew needs some more training or to be fired!
Surprisingly excellent breakfast bar, with very polite and helpful staff. Have already made a point to go back again. Loved it both times. Tipped $10 on $34 and still feel I maybe should've tipped a bit more. Partly because I noticed he'd only received $3 from the table behind us BTW we got there w 5 minutes left for the breakfast bar, so that's why we were able to get multiple plates at once. They were taking everything apart. I believe $5 per person is the MINIMUM tip regardless of the bill, for good service, so therefore I kinda feel I should've tipped more. But I know it was appreciated. Definitely recommend that particular store though. I'll now try it out here in Louisville, hoping for similar...
It's been a long time since we were at a Big Boy and it was a very good time. Food was on the spot and our sever was one of the best we've had in awhileFood: 5/5
I came in for DoorDash and I was greeted immediately both times. One order was very large and but the staff made sure that I knew the status of the order and double checked all of the items before I left. Their to go packaging was easy to transport and secure. I always love the atmosphere of that restaurant because it is so family oriented and the waitresses are always busy and smiling.
Nice sit down diner. Decent food but you go here for the serviceFood: 5/5
