Took my elderly momma to big lots in Jackson mi. Carrie sp? Was so rude! There was no one in line when we got to the cash register she told my poor disabled, can walk but very slowly and painfully mom that she has to go all around the counter to go thru their black tape indicating where to stand in line. That, I could understand IF there was a line. So disappointed in your customer service. I can only hope that this "Carii" gets some training on how NOT to treat people. We will go elsewhere. Thank you for your time and consideration, Linda
I'm crazy bout Big Lots in Jackson. It always has just the right odd thing I need. Today was a dishwashing tub and a toaster oven. Best deals on both. Washed dishes and used my new toaster oven today- Yeah! Staff is always friendly and helpful. Had a good chat with one gentleman who was assembling a chair. He was patient and told me where to find what I needed. Thanks, I will be back.-Kal
Yesterday was my first experience at a Big Lots and I was surprised by the vast selection of products they sell. Barb at the cash register was so very kind. A young man working found a purchased doormat that was left in a cart and returned it inside hopefully for the customer who left it to return and claim it. The right, and a generous, thing to do. The store is a little dirty in appearance, not sure that things are actually dirty but the place could use some fresh paint and a wax of the floors. Otherwise I think I would return to Big Lots if looking for odd and ends for my house as they offer some products for a good cost. Don’t forget to sign up for the BIG Rewards program!!!
Big Lots is indeed, semi-big. Actually, it's not big at all, maybe extra large-small. The cashier always says "hello, welcome to Big Lots" when you walk in. You can tell, saying Hello, Welcome to Big Lots is not her idea. Upon entering the store and getting past the irritating fake welcome, you find yourself alone, in the middle of lots of stuff. If you'd like to ask where something is, walk back up to the cashier and ask her, because it seems she may be the only employee in the joint. But, be prepared to wait if there is anyone in line. Apparently, once they lure you in with all the niceties, they turn cold, distant and too preoccupied to even look at you, let alone offer to help. After waiting for the 5 people in front of you to pay for their things, it's finally your turn. A few awkward moments later, and the silence is broken; "can I help you". Cold as a robot in February. I mean seriously, where did the chick who welcomed me so nicely go just moments ago, seriously? This must be her evil twin who is taking her place while she goes outside and smokes and stares at her phone. I ask where the charcoal is. She says "toward the back, to the right". Although I would like to go a bit further with the conversation, I figure what the heck, I've got the general direction, I've got the time. Let's Go On A Scavenger Hunt! But seriously folks, shop Big Lots! I do.
One of the dirtiest stores I’ve been to in a long time. I don’t know how corporate allows this store to stay open.
Went in to purchase a bed. Asked the floor associate didn’t get her name for some assistance. She walked over and said do you want thispointing at the bed and we asked yeah we just have some questions. She was annoyed to be helping us and it was very noticeable. We ask about the leasing program and do we need to fill anything out. She tells us no and says meet her up front and walked away. We stopped to look at a recliner on our way up front. Decided to get a recliner as well. So when we were up at the front we said we were interested in a recliner as well. She says to us very rudely, do you want the bed or the recliner? She didn’t want to help with any of the purchase. She threw her hands up and when I said “both”and she mimicked me! She acted like this in front of the cashier and assistant store manager. I complained right then how rude she was. We finally got help from the cashier on the leasing information and the manager gave us 10% off of purchase and said he would have a talk with her. It was a terrible experience shopping at this store and I will not return. Sad that customer service has went so downhill.
The staff were not helpful, no one said hello or asked if there was anything that they could do to help me find what i needed. The bathroom was disgraceful, and very unsanitary. I took photos showed it to the manager and she acted as though it wasn't important to deal with. Stated a work order is in! I stated for hygienic and safety purposes that it should be completely closed down until it can be cleaned and the toilets fixed. That's unsanitary! I told her corporate will know about this! She shrugged her shoulders.
Horrible customer service do not ever buy anything from this big lots especially online. They have horrible staff and even worse they do not care at all. I would put Zero stars if I could.
They actually have a lot of nice affordable things.
This place is awful. My wife and I purchased two recliners here in October, the sales lady told us they would be ready when we returned the next day with a truck to pick them up no they don't provide delivery. First off they gave us the wrong chairs. Then when we called and told them the mistake they made, they were extremely rude about having us return them so we could get the correct chairs we purchased. We had to rent a U haul van and were never reimbursed for their mistake. We had the chairs until December before the recline handle snapped in two and stopped working on one chair. Same thing happened to the second chair in April. 400 plus dollars for all that not including the price of having to rent a van to return the mistake chairs given to us on accident. Save yourself the trouble and pay the extra money to buy from a real furniture store.
