Big Mama's Soul Food

The inside is really pretty, and the menu has a lot more options than I expected. There was a lot of comfy seating to wait on while our food was being made. I got a black bean burgers and fries, and it was delicious. I want to bring my husband for a date soon!

They've updated their vegan menu to include a tasty vegan chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries that's actually pretty reasonably priced for $11 & some change by comparison to the vegan drummies 4 for $10! you can order them as an entree with two sides for a few dollars more though. The sandwich and sweet potato fries were delicious and were at the time seemed to be the only option at lunchtime for me to order because inexplicably there weren't too many vegan options available but the sandwich and fries were a deliciously satisfying and sufficient option indeed I do hope that the dinner menu will be more expansive and available as I would like to return and sample the complete vegan menu. The young lady who waited on me was very pleasant checking on me often & asking me if I'd like a complimentary cup of water and how was my food and greeted me as I walked through the door, great customer service is always appreciated, good food & great customer service always a reason to patronize an establishment.

Love the food here! Its made fresh so I didn't mind waiting 15min for my smothered chicken meal. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu options especially those henny wings.

Thanks Brian for my amazing lunch today! I ordered the vegan steak and cheese. He used an amazing qualtity vegan cheese trust me I'm not vegan because I love cheese!!! The "meat" was flavorful and the sandwich was packed with veggies. But let me tell you.....get some fries from this place. They didn't make it out of the parking lot. DELICIOUS. They were so crisp and the perfect amount of salt. No sauce required. Can't wait to come back and try more!!!

I came all the way from St. Marys County and when we got there they said call and we will return your call. We waited with others waited about an hr! They never called so we attempted to call 3 times. We started this journey at 5:30 and finally got food at 7:00pm. The sweet potat8 are really good, the collards need a little help. The pulled pork is good with hot sauce. The fried wings are good. They serve rice with the gravy, that's good. The customer service needs a whole make over! Where takeout is keeping businesses open, they need work. It will be awhile before I go back. I'm still upset the way we were treated. Part - 2 The pork chop was very rubbery, not good at all.

First time visiting The food was good! I had the 4 piece Fried chicken wings with two sides. Collard greens were not ready so I tried the Mac and cheese and yams. I loved the food. I will say the only thing that needs to be adjusted is the customer service. This place is already hidden with not much advertising , when you do receive customers. You have to be able to keep them. The goal is to have customers come back and bring friends, family and co workers. Also you guys needs to have to go menus. You miss sales this way by not having them. I came in today and asked for menus to share with co works while I ordered, and was told to take a picture of the menu. When someone is trying to help you get more business this is the wrong answer. Other then this I would visit again.

Listen I go to Big Mama’s a lot and they are really good people. The henny wings, bourbon cornbread, yams, and collards are my favorites, definitely worth checking out. A lot of reviewers on here are being extra tho. Listen… we gotta stop comparing Black owned soul food to people who do not specialize in it. Every time I order here they always tell me 20-25 min, and even let you know that if you are picking up your order and are not parked in front of the door where they can see you to call when you arrive. So who would sit for an hour and not call to check on their food and think their fish will still be crispy…sounds like some folks are looking to have problems. Best Soul Food I have found in Maryland. No canned food, and it may not be the EXACT same everytime but the little variations are a sublime example of fresh food.

Worth EVERY DIME…. With one of my meals I ordered two pieces of smothered chicken instead of the one it comes with ONE IS ALL YOU NEED!! And the Crocker was amazing, will DEFINITELY be my new go to!

I tried Big Mama’s carryout service and I was very impressed. The decor was very nice. The cashier was friendly as well as the chef. I ordered a 2-pc catfish dinner with Mac/cheese and collard greens and chicken and waffles. I did have to wait long, maybe 15 minutes. The meals were made-to-order. My husband and I were amazed at how well seasoned and just damn good the food was!! Big Mama’s did not disappoint. We have followed her since she was in a church in White Plains, MD. I think it was a church. I will return!! Thanks Big Mama!!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!!!! I went there, called my order in and told them I was outside. After an hour and another phone call later they bought my food out. The fish was soggy and greasy. The cabbage was soggy and apparently overcooked or old. I had to drive back there for a partial refund, but was still hungry with a headache. ABSOLUTELY the worst so-called soul food place in the state of Maryland. GARBAGE.
