The Big Sandy Historical Society Museum located at the corner of Railroad & Johannes Ave. Open June 1 thru Sept.1 Tuesday- Sat. 10 am to 4 pm. The museum includes displays containing articles from the Big Sandy area.
The Big Sandy Historical Society Museum was formed September 3, 1987
3,1987. Became incorporated in January of 1988. Charter
Memberships were available for $10. The first officers were
Chairman Keith Edwards, Vice Chair, John O'Malley, Secretary
Sharon Robertson, Treasurer Max Clawiter. Besides housing one
of the most complete pioneer exhibits the facility is available
to host, meetings, family reunions, or any other gatherings.
Available for purchase at the Museum is the Gathering of
Memories Book, the 928 page book is the history of local
families written by themselves or family members beginning
with the early pioneers and homesteaders. The book also
contains many photographs, maps, and much more.
