My expectations were not met. I had one of their specials, The Trooper. Thanks to all the rice, the portion is large. The topping is flavorful but the portion is skimpy. The shrimp etouffe was bland. The jambalaya was more rice than other ingredients. If you like rice, this is a great place to go!
My family ate there when it first opened. I felt like the food was cooked too hard and was overpriced for the portion sizes. That wasn't even the worst part though. My husband and son both ended up with food poisoning. They were the only ones in our party who ate the fried oysters, rendering them both sick for at least 2 days. Needless to say, we've never returned there and wouldn't recommend the place to anyone we know.
Brought my mother here and she is the biggest critic but said it tasted like her mother's hush puppies. It about floored. She was in love. She is not a fan of the Shack and Red Lobster. So keep up the good work. And I'll be back.
I was very upset that it took over 30 minutes to get food after ordering. There were 3 adults and 5 children in our party. My sister's gumbo was cold and tasted gross, I ordered a shrimp po-boy and fries were cold, took them back waitress brought more cold fries out and finally 3rd time I got HOT FRIES... PAID $68.61 WAS CHARGED $82.33 WHEN I VIEWED MY STATEMENT OF VISA CARD!!!! I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE AGAIN......
It sucks that there's not much choice for Cajun here in Edmond. If you want a decent catfish poboy and fries for lunch, it's OK. Just OK, I might add. I've been back a few times, just because I get a craving for catfish and don't know where else to go. But given the choice, I would probably choose something else. Let's put it this way, in Dallas where there are several great cajun restaurants, this place wouldn't last 2 weeks. Not just because the food is only "OK", but because it's not exactly cheap either. I could go to Dodies mmmmmm or Aligator Cafe mmmmmmmmmmm or any number of places there and not only get WAY better food, I would pay less for it. Such is supply and demand. I have demand. They have supply. Now I am sad.
Good portions. One of the best hush puppies I've had. Every thing tastes made from scratch. Catfish and shrimp batter perfectly.
Man,,,,, I tried tha alligator ...... Portion size was small but most important the batter was under cooked.... Worst I ever had ...... Mean while the jumbalaya was ok. Very clean and friendly atmosphere minus gator
Just came across this place today. As good a gumbo as I have had in OKC Area. Wait staff was great. I will be back.
This IS NOT Cajun food. Worst Poboy sandwich ever and the hushpuppies were burnt to a crisp.
Wait staff tonight was very attentive. Girls where great. Food fresh and hot.
