You pay through the roof to enter and you have to pay to sit! There are far better clubs that are not as pretentious as this. Travelled from Scotland and never again. Left as the club was empty and they kept pushing us to buy a table. I would give this place a zero.
My friend recommended bijou and have been going for awhile now, I’ve been other places too but I love bijou and went there for New Year’s Eve. Booked a table for New Year’s Eve this was very reasonable in comparison to other places. The place was sooo packed it was a great vibe, everyone looked so glamorous and a friendly crowd. Place - looked amazing, love the decor, style different rooms spacious place. The bouncers even thou so busy were really nice and chatty and made me feel welcome. Drinks selection is always on point there. Staff really attentive and nice and didn’t have to wait long for drinks.
We paid through the roof to be on the VIP list, all that amounted to was a table at the corner of the dance floor. Other tables were available for no extra cost. Despite paying a hefty bill to get a table we had to pay £10 to get in. Very unclear what we actually got for our money. The whole set up is very pretentious and definitely not worth the money they charge. We asked for a range of drinks for our table, we got a large bottle of vodka and one beer. Not the most varied selection. They took our money and then seemed to be working very hard to ensure we didn’t enjoy ourselves.
I felt like I'd wasted a load of money coming here. The DJ was alright, played some big tunes, but drinks were expensive for what the place was, I mean it's not that good of a club to justify the prices. Bar staff were cool. But the whole night was put on a downer by what had happened at the beginning of the night with the door staff. And not just the bouncers, but the promotions staff made it quite clear what their opinions were. I wont be going back.
Disgusting treatment from the 'public relations manager' we booked a table with £125 deposit then on the day we were due to go received a number of rude emails about wearing 'exaggerated jewellery' on the club and how many males could come and a number of ways we could be turned away or thrown out basically made to feel unwelcome before we had even arrived, it was pretty obvious what she was getting at and I see from other reviews minorities don't seem to be welcome here which is extraordinary in 2019. We decided to give up our deposit and go elsewhere and had a fantastic night elsewhere in Manchester and were made to feel welcome in all the places we went and had no trouble and caused no trouble. I recommend you go elsewhere till they learn how to treat certain types of people.
We booked a booth with bijou for tonight boxing night £500 we had agreed minimum spend. For a four person booth. When we arrived we were given a table with two seats, no explanation. When we questioned this we got told they had flooded and gave us a full refund so we could leave and go else where but this caused us problems due to how busy boxing night is. They had two of our contact numbers so they could of pre warned us. Really disappointed with the venue. The manager gave us a refund quickly. Won't be booking again
Bijou club had been booked months ago for my friends birthday. We paid a deposit of £225 for a table and were all looking forward to celebrating her milestone in style. When we arrived at the club we were given the worst reception, first came are you on the guestlist well you would think so after paying 50% deposit for a table the lady on the door checked the list surprise surprise we weren't on the list so we notified them we had a table then another lady came along with a clipboard who looked on her magical list and found the party leaders name! Second thing was I have to speak the table manager who will escort us to our table bearing in mind we are still standing outside we were still looking for this VIP treatment. The table manager came out who advised we were not in the correct dress code....we were in party dresses and playsuits and heels not sure what other dress code we could have been wearing maybe tiaras and prom dresses!! The manager then back tracked saying he had refused a similar table earlier for the dress code but we had now become a security risk and we weren't being granted entry! We failed to see what security risk we would pose after the amount of girls attending the event was already disclosed in our original booking. Whilst having this long discussion outside in the cold other party goers were entering the club in large numbers some were all female groups and some were all male groups so we were baffled to understand what security risk we posed! However after all this we were denied entry to the club at this point we did not want to enter anyway we just wanted a refund for the £225 we had paid for the entry already but we were advised this was something we could discuss with the manager on Monday so not only were we being denied entry into the club but we were also told to leave without a refund all this because we wanted to celebrate my friends birthday! In my experience I do not feel we were denied entry due to being a security risk but do to our ethnicity as other races were able to enter without even being asked if they were on the guest list. I am hurt to know that racism is still very much alive and this discrimination is still happening in this day and age. Bijou is an urban club playing urban music surely they would expect people of my ethnicity to want to experience the atmosphere and DJS at their club! I am disgusted by our experience and would never recommend this club!!!!!!
I’m a Notting Hill-billy. This isn’t anything like the Bijou I was expecting from my Kensington experience. Nice enough small venue. Would be a great private and intimate location, however, the emptiest venue on a Saturday night I have ever been in. A £10 cover charge and poor wine selection makes me wonder whether the fact that all of the reserved, yet empty tables, are actually an elaborate money laundering scam, rather than a bar/club.
Nice club so got 4 stars for decor and ambience. Food was the worst i ever had . Burger in a barmcake or sausage in a roll. That was the choice it was terrible. Returned 1st burger as it was cold and 2nd burger wasnt cooked. So the one thing on offer couldnt even be right. Has to be the worst food i have ever had. Caterers need to be shot.
That last review by Gemma Sanders is ridiculous... I hold events at Bijou but boxing nights wasn't one of my events... At 6pm i asked the owner hows boxing night looking as i like to keep an interest and i was worried about the floods... he said really good we've been lucky not to be hit by the floods as Bijou is next to a river... at 8:30 the whole club was flooded the whole of the UK had been hit with worst floods in history. I am looking at that review thinking the club still tried to accommodate the customer and also quickly gave her a refund there just isn't no pleasing some people i was surprised they were even open as i know they couldnt open the main bar at all and had to just use the VIP area so people like Gemma wouldnt have left on the streets so to speak with no where to go!... I know the staff at Bijou Club work very hard and annoys me when i see comments like this! I am not usually this vocal but i know the stress the staff went through to try please the customers!
